Week 10 NFL fantasy advice

Week 10 is always an important week in fantasy land, it usually allows teams to separate from each other, for better or worse.

So here’s some tips on how to keep up heading down the stretch.

Waiver additions to target

Zac Stacy, RB, St Louis Rams
I know what you’re saying to yourself. In what league has he not been picked up?

Surprisingly enough though, he is owned in only 70% of NFL.com leagues. According to his play lately, no further explanation is needed.

Jake Locker, quarterback, Tennessee Titans
Before his injury he was firing on all cylinders, now everyone’s dropped him and he could have an immediate impact as the Jacksonville Jaguars come to town.

Riley Cooper, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
Nick Foles loves this guy, the best representation of that was last week. He was targeted and came up trumps with 139 yards and three touchdown grabs. Cooper will be a great pick-up for anyone struggling with the wide receiver position.

Andre Ellington, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Ellington has become the star running back for the Arizona Cardinals. He has doubled his snap count since Mendenhall’s injury.

Recent form will show that this is a great addition to your fantasy team, and he will continue to see his role grow in the previously lacklustre offense.

Players to watch: Timothy Wright, Case Keenum, Jordan Reed, Chris Ivory, Rashad Jennings, New England Patriots wide outs.

Players to drop

Jacquizz Rodgers, RB, Atlanta Falcons
Steven Jackson is back, and Rodgers’ backup spot has been cemented with only five carries last week.

Joseph Randle, RB, Dallas Cowboys
Prior to the return of Demarco Murray, Randle was a hot name on the waiver wire, however his value has now diminished.

Peyton Hillis, RB, New York Giants
Hillis sees the ball often enough, but his ground-and-pound style is often rendered useless in the Giants catch-up offense, which they seem to be always playing.

Rueben Randle, WR, New York Giants
The talent and connection with Eli Manning is there, he is just not on the field turning up for only 27 (36%) snaps in his last outing. If you’re shallow at receiver, he might be worth a bench spot down the stretch however.

Shenanigans!

Players to trade for

Eddie Lacy, RB, Green Bay Packers
Proving to be the best rookie drafted outside the first round this year, Lacy has the most rushing yards in the league since week five.

The Aaron Rodgers injury could see an increase in carries for the big man, but it could also see teams focussing on defending the run more.

LeSean McCoy, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Although recent form hasn’t been incredible, the Eagles offense is starting to build under Nick Foles and Chip Kelly. McCoy could be available, so nab him while his production is slow.

Pierre Garcon, WR, Washington Redskins
I love the targets for this guy, another player who was on fire at the start of the season and has since cooled down, barring last week’s overtime victory over the San Diego Chargers. He is a great receiver that doesn’t get double coverage often and has the trust of his quarterback.

Players to trade away

Fred Jackson, RB, Buffalo Bills
Very injury prone player and with C.J. Spiller getting more carries now his ankle has recovered, I’d trade him ASAP.

Steve Smith, WR, Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton, DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and the cerebral touchdown poacher Mike Tolbert are sharing the goal-line snaps, leaving Steve Smith with just three this season. His yardage has been disappointing too, with 387.

Alfred Morris, RB, Washington Redskins
Yet again, shenanigans!

Ryan Matthews, RB, San Diego Chargers
I’ve never liked running backs who split carries. Matthews and his partner Danny Woodhead are best suited as flex options based on match-ups.
