The IndyCar Afterburn: Indy GP 2024 - Will Power the bridesmaid again as Alex Palou retakes standings lead with victory
Since the Aussie's last victory, he has claimed seven second-placed finishes after being unable to catch Alex Palou.
Force India has completed their 2014 line-up, with Sergio Perez unsurprisingly revealed as Nico Hülkenberg’s teammate.
Perez had found himself on the outer when McLaren dropped him following a solitary campaign with the outfit, blighted by a poor car, in favour of Kevin Magnussen.
The Mexican finished eleventh in the standings with a best finish of fifth place at India.
Of the move, Perez remarked that “coming here was always my first choice… I already have a good feeling about 2014”, ostensibly after the coveted Lotus seat was filled by Pastor Maldonado.
The 23-year old can already lay claim to enjoying better credentials than his highly rated partner, having enjoyed three podiums during his fine 2012 campaign at Sauber, which landed him at McLaren, while Hülkenberg remarkably is yet to stand on the podium.
Regardless, Perez and Hülkenberg represent a force to be reckoned with, a combination which nspires more enthusiasm than the Paul di Resta-Adrian Sutil partnership.
di Resta appears DTM-bound having cooled recently to the notion of an IndyCar switch, following three seasons at the outfit, which yielded a best result of fourth place.
Sutil, who has raced exclusively for the Silverstone squad since his 2007 debut under the outfit’s previous Spyker guise, also with a highest finish of fourth place, has been linked to Sauber.

Theo Pourchaire replaces David Malukas, who got injured and then fired before he could even sit in the car.
The third ever Miami Grand Prix is in the history books and finally Lando Norris has tasted the victory champagne. That is one of…
The Australian finished second but had to work for it, as he fought off food poisoning, a race day engine change, and his own overheating body.
Nico Hulkenberg's move to a German team will hopefully bring back some of the German flare Formula 1 had just seven years ago.
Given how exclusive and precious a commodity scoring an F1 point is, why is it that mediocrity should be rewarded?
