The San Antonio Spurs, despite a tough recent draw need to bounce back in their final two matches of the NBA season, and it starts against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Join The Roar for live scores from 10am (AEST).

The Spurs, despite being without both Manu Ginobili and Boris Diaw must find a way to overcome the Thunder and get back in the winners circle before the playoffs begin.

While it won’t overly concern them due to the fact they have been resting players, there is no question that it is disruptive to momentum at this point of the season.

For the first time all season, they have lost three straight games, with two of them coming against the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors, of course, had plenty to play for as they gunned for the best ever season record, but San Antonio will certainly have been disappointed to lose both, particularly on their home court.

In the middle of those matches, with the full starting side watching on from the sidelines, they lost to the Denver Nuggets.

They still sit second place in the Western Conference, but this match against the Thunder with close to a full strength side back on the floor is going to tell us a thing or two.

The Spurs rely on defence more often than not but after those matches against the Warriors where they struggled to keep up offensively, we could see a slight shift in focus. Simply put, if the Warriors get hot, no defence will stop them.

The Thunder also need a solid win, having lost matches to the Portland Trail Blazers – who could be their Western Conference first-round playoff opponent – and maybe more shockingly, the lowly ranked and out of playoff contention Sacramento Kings.

Like the Spurs, they haven’t been playing at full strength a majority of the time, and they might have dominated the Los Angeles Lakers in their last meeting, but the losing record to the playoff is a worry.

They have confirmed that Kevin Durrant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka will all be rested from the fixture creating a potential thrashing.

For OKC it is turnovers and defence that lets them down and has been flaring up more so in the last fortnight.

Oklahoma currently lead the season series two games to one.

Prediction
The Thunder are badly understrength, and this could be a smashing.

Spurs by 17.
