While there is a bumper card of racing at Rosehill, there is still some quality racing right across Australia for the weekend.

Here are my five suggested plays across the remaining meetings.

Bet one – Win – Mornington Race Two Number 7 Ashlee Marie
Tough meeting at Mornington but I’m confident she can go close. This girl hasn’t raced since Valentines Day at Sandown over 2100m when she attempted to lead all the way and gave a pretty good kick but just died on the run when second to Miss Danni.

More depth here but should be on speed and should take some beating.

Bet two – Win – Doomben Race Four Number 2 My Diamantine
A wet track means she is a near good thing for me. This mare has done a great job with Brian Smith and I think he has got her going well this prep.

Resumed over the 1350m a fortnight back and was warming to the task late before running out of puff behind Niccanova. Up to the mile a big tick and if the forecast for rain is right, she looks an even better chance. Well found, but keen.

Bet three – Win – Doomben Race Six Number 4 Suggan Buggan
As brilliant as Mr Marbellouz has been, I can’t get him odds and much rather take $4+ for Suggan Buggan. He is low flying at the moment for the Rob Heathcoate stable, winning his past two in the space of eight days, firstly bolting up at the Sunny Coast before doing something similar over the 1350m here a fortnight ago.

Back to 1200m is a concern, but if we get a wet track, he’s a near moral.

Bet four – Win – Morphettville Parks Race Five Number 3 Over Exposure
Thought black figures were good enough for this horse and I think he’ll take some beating. Had his first run as a gelding on Adelaide Cup Day over 1200m and he was a victim of his poor racing pattern of flopping out the back and leaving it late.

He did it again and gave away too much head start to a good horse in Easy Beast. Not as much depth here and should only improve.

Bet five – Win – Morphettville Parks Race Seven Number 9 Cambridge Lady
Thought she was the best bet in SA. Was hard in the market when racing on Wangaratta Cup Day and under a lovely ride from Michael Walker, the mare proved far too good for her rivals and in the end did it quite comfortably.

Not sure there is as much depth here and she has upside. $4 or thereabouts is good enough for me.
