Five meetings across Australia on Friday, with each program looking tough to sort out with confidence. In saying that, here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One – Win – Scone Race One Number 12 Kruger
The Kris Lees horse is too short at red figures for my liking so I’d be taking the odds on offer for this bloke, who is on debut for Paul Messara.

Tipped out after trialling at Muswellbrook back in February. Trialled a couple of weeks back at Cessnock and looked pretty good in running a narrow second. Couple of gear changes for the debut, with the signs there of intent to run well on debut.

Bet: $25 Win at $4.4

Bet Two – Win – Scone Race Two Number 3 Grand Exit
He has had three career outings for Kristen Buchanan and looks a definite threat. Ran over 1100m at Wyong where she did work in the run from the wide gate and stuck on okay in defeat behind a progressive type in Trumbull.

The way she rallied last time, I think 1100m on the big track will be idea for her and rates highly.

Bet: $35 Win at $3.1

Bet Three – Win – Canberra Race One Number 2 Action Shale
Taking on the older horses but gee he looks well placed here. Last raced on June 24 at Wagga over 1200m where he was backed off the map and after a soft run outside the speed, he looked home but Sunday Poet fought hard and got the win.

That is a nice horse the winner, so I’m liking that form, and with this horse, he gets Blinkers FT and back to 1080m, a track/distance he bolted up at fresh.

Bet: $50 Win

Bet Four – Win – Canberra Race Five Number 1 Quantum Time
Handy type for Gratz Vella who should take some beating here. Resumed at this track/distance three weeks ago where he attacked the line hard late between runners to just miss out on picking up Embezzlement.

That was his first run in around five months so he should come right on from that and should get clear running from the draw.

Bet: $20 Win

Bet Five – Win – Geelong Race Six Number 5 Consider It Done
You should comfortably get black figures for this horse. Team Hawkes train this filly, who looks to have plenty of talent but just wants to get things over and done with too quickly.

Just got the win last time at Pakenham but the runner up Bricktop has been city placed subsequent, which reads well.

Should lead or sit off Mamzelle Murdoch. Last 75m will test her, but happy to be in her corner.

Bet: $50 Win

Total Spend: $180
