Three meetings to be conducted across on Australia on Monday, with my main focus being on the two NSW programs. Here are my five plays for the afternoon.

Bet One – Each Way – Scone Race Three Number 2 Athena’s Voice
She Excites looks too short for my liking so I’ll back this filly for Rod Northam, having her first crack beyond 2000m.

Has run over the Muswellbrook 1750m at her past couple, winning a Maiden/Class One in dominant fashion two back before an eye-catching fourth.

2200m looks an ideal step up on her home track and she has a touch more brilliance than She Excites, who will run the trip right out but doesn’t have a turn of foot.

Bet: $10 Win at $4.5

Bet Two – Win – Scone Race Six Number 9 Mac’s Reward
Looks a really good gamble at near double figures.

Was three weeks between runs when racing over 1000m at Muswellbrook last time where he was wide no cover on speed before being forced wider on the turn and he battled away well without threatening.

Draws much better this time, gets really good weight relief and likes racing at Scone.

Bet: $5 E/W at $9/$2.9

Bet Three – Win – Goulburn Race One Number 5 Eaglehawk
He’s a bit of a bludger but he puts this field away, even if he does a bit wrong.

Resumed over 1100m at hawkesbury where I thought he threw it away by wanting to lay in under pressure, eventually running a narrow second to Sugar Buzz.

No depth here, good gate, Penza on… should be winning, but take the tote.

Bet: $25 Win

Bet Four – Win – Goulburn Race Five Number 6 Tiara Road
Declared her last time at the track/distance when a close up second but I think she goes one better. Probably went off one run too early on her.

Looked to need the run at the trip and it was a hard run when second to Art Of Defence, who she meets 2kg better off and Nick Heywood is riding Danny Williams runners really well at the moment.

Now she’s had the 2100m run under the belt, confident she wins.

Bet: $25 Win

Bet Five – Win – Geelong Race One Number 4 Mighty Quinn
Life ban if he can’t put this field away. At the time of writing this, got no idea what price he is. Hoping for even money or a touch better but likely to get red figures.

Got the form to be beating these, spanking them even. He’s just afraid to greet the judge first.

Looked all over a winner last time at Bendigo but was outgunned by Set With Jewels. He had a near two length break on main danger Miss Matilda, and that does look the right form race. Should win but doubt we’ll get a flash price.

Bet: $50 Win
