One of the biggest races on the Australian cycling calendar will return for another year, with some of the best riders in the world set to contest the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. This is The Roar‘s guide to live streaming the race online and watching it on TV.

The race is expected to start at 11:10am (AEDT) on Sunday, January 27. It will run into the mid-afternoon, covering a distance of 163 kilometres.

First raced in 2015, the course is a challenging one around southern Victoria, offering some spectacular views for the peloton in what is Australia’s only professional one-day classic race.

Starting in Geelong, the race goes through Barwon Heads, past Bells Beach and along the Great Ocean Road before looping back to Geelong where three laps of a circuit are completed to end the race.

How to watch the race on TV

The race will be broadcast by the Seven Network this year, who also recently had the rights to the Tour Down Under around Adelaide.

Their coverage will begin at 10:30am (AEDT) on the Sunday morning of the race, with it to continue through to about 4pm (AEDT) in the afternoon, although that will depend on the actual finish time.

However, at 1pm (AEDT), you will need to switch from the main Channel 7 to 7Mate, as the Test cricket will take precedence.

While the coverage is on Channel 7, you will need to use Channel 70 for high definition or 71 for standard definition. Once moved to 7Mate, Channel 73 will be broadcasting the cycling.

How to live stream the race online

If you are looking to stream the race online, you’ll be able to do so through the 7plus website or application, which allows you to stream the channels of Seven.

Their coverage will be as you would see on the TV, and like the broadcast, you’ll also need to switch streams at 1pm (AEDT).

The app and website is free to use, however, you will need to sign up with a valid email address and login details.
