The Geelong Cup has arrived for 2019, with some of the big-name aspirants for the Melbourne Cup set to prove their form and fitness in the 2400-metre Group 3 race. This is The Roar’s guide to live streaming the race online, or watching it on TV in Australia.

Scheduled to begin at 4pm (AEDT) on Wednesday, October 23, the race will be held at the Geelong Racecourse and is the biggest event at the track for the year.

Part of Melbourne’s famous Spring Carnival, runners like the Prince of Arran, Muntahaa and Red Cardinal will all be taking part in the race.

Also on the entry list is Steel Prince, who won the automatic entry Andrew Ramsden Stakes back in May, meaning the Anthony Freedman-trained entry will be going to the Melbourne Cup with a ballot exemption spot.

Other horses in the race though could use a win here to improve positioning on the Melbourne Cup order of entry though, and there will be plenty on the line when the horses load into the barriers in Geelong for this Group 3 race which is anything but.

If you’d prefer to watch racing every day of the year, right around the country, then the better option will be to tune in through the Foxtel channel, Sky Racing.

To watch the coverage on Sky Racing, which is Channel 526, you’ll need to have a valid Foxtel TV subscription, which is complete with the sports package of channels.

How to live stream the 2019 Geelong Cup online

If you’d prefer to live stream this race online, then there will be a couple of ways to do so.

The best option is to tune in through Kayo Sports, who have the rights to live stream Racing.com’s coverage online.

While Kayo will set you back $25 per month and grants access to Foxtel sporting content, Sky Racing is a channel which is not available as a live stream.

This means you won’t be able to use the Foxtel App or Foxtel Now to live stream the Geelong Cup.

You will, however, be able to use the live stream on racing.com, and a number of betting companies like Sportsbet, Tab and BetEasy, however, these are likely to require you to have an account with funds deposited to stream the race.
