The 107th edition of the Tour de France is set to begin on Saturday, August 29. The 2020 race will feature 21 stages, including eight mountain finishes.

Here is The Roar’s guide to live streaming the Tour, or watching it on TV.

Originally scheduled to start on June 27, there were initially fears the race could be cancelled for the first time since the Second World War. The race will, fortunately, go ahead – but without its famous and controversial ‘podium girls’, who are traditionally on hand to present the winners with their trophy and a kiss on the cheek.

2019 winner Egan Bernal will be intent on defending his crown. Bernal is rated an equal favourite to go back-to-back, along with 30-year-old Slovenian Primož Roglič.

How to watch the Tour de France on TV
SBS is televising every moment of the race live and free-to-air. Coverage of stage 1 begins at 7:30pm (AEST), with Grand Départ from Nice scheduled for 9pm (AEST).

Coverage in Western Australia will typically begin on SBS Viceland and involve switching back to SBS between 8:30pm-9:30pm local time. All other states periodically employ this early use of Viceland too, so check your local guides to avoid being caught out.

SBS coverage on ensuing nights will typically begin between 8:30pm and 9:30pm (AEST) – check your local guides for confirmation.
