Two meetings to look at on Friday, with my attention at Tabcorp Park Melton and Wagga. Down below are your best bets for the respective programs.

Tabcorp Park Melton

Best bet: Race 5, Number 2, Bettor Call Me
Lot of shorties will go around, likely at Winx odds. I think this guy will be around $1.60-$1.70 and if that is the case, bet up. He was great in defeat last start at Bendigo. Began quick but got a mile back then was held up late when seemingly having plenty to offer. He should find the front here and be much too good.

Next-best: Race 11, Number 4, Helansin
I think he just wins if he does everything right. His manners can let him down at times, but this just looks a perfect set up. Drawn well, has gate speed, has a gun driver steering… I think he’s a good thing. Hasn’t had a front line draw to use his past couple but gets it here, so I’m quite keen on him.

Value: Race 9, Number 1, Calypso Mistress
Drawn well, this mare is in with a shout at odds. Hasn’t had much luck her past couple, whether it be shuffled back on the pegs or forced to sit parked outside the speed. Hopefully she can land leaders back and if she can relax in the run, she’ll take beating at a likely good price.

Best bet: Race 3, Number 1, Excelente
He should be leading throughout and winning comfortably. Talented juvenile for David Kennedy that was a dominant winner at the track last start, leading all the way and doing it comfortably. He’s no world beater, but he’s good enough to lead here and prove too strong.

Next-best: Race 4, Number 2, Whereyabintwistin
On the podium for one of the worst names I’ve seen for a horse, but that aside, he has got good ability and should register his first win here. Was with the Sanderson camp in Victoria but now finds himself with David Kennedy with an eye towards this Series. Should find the front, control proceedings and be too classy.

Value: Race 7, Number 9, Sax Player
Great each way play for me. He is drawn inside the second row, but follows out a fast beginner and the odds on favourite. Impressive win at Kilmore last time out when getting the box seat sit and dashing clear late. He’ll get an identical run this time around and for mine, only runs well.
