Two meetings to look at on Wednesday night, with Terang and Redcliffe getting my attention.

Terang

.
Best bet: Race 3, Number 9, Rocknroll Opal
He let punters down last start at Stawell but you have to butter up. He copped serious heat in front last time and had to tire late, which he did when finishing second. He’s better suited on the front line so the second line draw is tough, but I think he can overcome it.

Next best: Race 1, Number 2, Heavenly Brigade
This mare looks to have found a very winnable race. Resumed last Tuesday at Geelong where she settled off the speed and finished off quite strongly late to run a narrow second. Should get a lovely run in transit from the draw and in a race lacking depth, she’s the one to beat.

Value: Race 6, Number 2, Meet Michaelangelo
In an even race, he’s definitely worth an each way ticket. I’d be forgiving of his effort at Charlton last start given he was forced to sit parked in the run, contacted a sulky, flat tyre…it was just a mess. Has a good record here, so I think at near double figures, he’s worth a ticket.

Redcliffe

Best bet: Race 9, Number 8, Kookaburraprincess
She likely goes around short, but there will be a reason for that: she has a bit on them. Led and spanked them when winning here last Monday. Has a second row draw to overcome this time but it shouldn’t matter to her because she does look to have them covered, all things being equal.

Next best: Race 6, Number 7, Go Away
This mare is flying and should take beating here. Was wide for the last bit when racing here last Thursday and was good late when a close up second. Inside the second row, it will require some Pete McMullen magic, but if the mare can get off the inside and get clear air, she is hard to beat.

Value: Race 1, Number 1, Torque With Esteem
He looks a great each way play at odds. It appears to be a really good map for this guy, likely getting the spot behind the leader and hot pot The Irish Eagle. His recent efforts have been solid and comes up with a plum draw to no work and launch late. He’ll only run well.
