There are two meetings to look at on Tuesday, with my attention being at Redcliffe and Shepparton. Below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Redcliffe

Best bet: Race 2, Number 2, Majestic Harry
First time at Redcliffe is the query, but if he gets around the track okay, then he just wins. This horse is a former Kiwi who has done little wrong since arriving in Australia, producing the goods at Albion Park last time after getting a sweet sit in transit. If he handles the tight turns, he’ll be too good.

Next best: Race 1, Number 7, Kapai
This horse has to overcome a 30-metre handicap, but he’s clearly the horse to beat. He just did a bit of work near the speed when racing over the 1780 metres here last time out and he battled on pretty well in defeat when third. He is much better suited over the middle-distance trip and he brings a class edge.

Value: Race 5, Number 1, Wedding Night
I am hoping we can get an each-way price about this mare. This horse has been solid in the market in recent runs, but they have been in easier races, so the rise in grade should ensure she gets to a decent price. She hasn’t been too far away of late, the latest run being a fourth here last Wednesday. She gets a suck run from the draw and only runs well.

Shepparton

Best bet: Race 2, Number 1, Hammers Hellpatrol
If he holds the front from the pole, it’s race over. This horse was a $1.50 favourite when resuming last week at Kilmore. This horse snagged back from the wide gate and worked home strongly after spotting them a decent start. This horse draws to get the front comfortably and should take a power of beating.

Next best: Race 11, Number 4, Mystic Chip
This horse is a veteran mare that looks like a good thing in the get out. This horse was a $101 pop last start at Melton in a far stronger race than this, but I really liked the way she found the line after getting held up at a vital stage. This race is full of bludgers, and to be fair, she probably is too, but she has the solid recent metro form.

Value: Race 5, Number 1, Oktolove
This is a tricky race but I can make a case for this eight-year-old at a price. I am not sure he handled the Albury track first up, then had a suck run at Echuca and worked to the line pretty well when third. This horse gets a suck run from the gate here and at a big price, he’s worth an each-way speck.
