I don’t mind T20 cricket. Although the novelty is starting to wear off. The one thing I can’t stand about T20 cricket and the one dayers in the sub continent is that the boundaries are just so small. I remember when scoring a limited overs ton was an amazing accomplishment, but during the India v Australia 7 game series just before the Ashes started, 600 to 800 runs per game seemed to be happening all the time and people were getting close to 200 (if my memory is right, I believe an Indian scored a double ton in that series)
It’s an interesting idea Santos and I think it has some merit, but I couldn’t see it happening in the future.
Dropping 10 overs the way to save one day cricket
I can’t wait for the World Cup to start! I’ve been quite disappointed with how the so called Australian fans have talked down our chances at the WC. It’s the World Cup, anything can happen.
Anticipation at its peak for FIFA World Cup
Okay thanks for the information Johnno. Should have done a little bit more research.
Dropping 10 overs the way to save one day cricket
It’s a bit difficult to understand how well the Wallabies played. The French didn’t play great, but still the Wallabies played really well as a team and took a lot of their chances.
Bring on the second test!

Love the Tony one.
Cutting all 23 players in the squad, while acknowledging he is not a “soccer-head” he still believes he’s the best man for the job.

Thanks for writing these articles. Looking forward to the next one.
Aussies in county cricket wrap (part two)
New Zealand might be a challenge at home.
Despite being currently ranked 6th in the test rankings, they are quite an underrated team in all formats, especially limited overs cricket.
The last test series Australia played against them was against Australia and it was a tied series. Although our batting doesn’t seem to have its middle order collapses as often, bowlers like Southee and Bracewell could prove difficult.
Australia don't deserve top Test ranking yet
I agree with you Ronan,
about a year ago our team was called the worst ever. Some even said we where going to be the next West Indies. I always knew that Australia would become number 1 again, but it just seems way too soon. After years of being the number 1 test team, South Africa lose a series at home, then lose the number 1 ranking to a side that was ranked 5th about 8 months ago. It just doesn’t seem fair.
Australia don't deserve top Test ranking yet
Cheers Alan,
Wow that would have been incredible!
Agreed, it seems like the fixtures at the moment are completely packed and a series like this probably won’t happen for another 10 years at a minimum. Sadly the World Cup (ODI) is losing steam and might not be around in a few years time, so how about if the T20 World cup was every 4 years and the Super Series was every 2 years.
Give the ICC Super Series another chance
Thanks for reading Josh.
I think the Super Series would workout better than the Test Championship for a number of reasons.
1) As much as I love test cricket, not everyone else does. With the T20’s and ODI matches added it would create more interest to the casual cricket fans.
2) It would be a great supporter of minnow cricketing nations such as Ireland, Scotland, Afghanistan and The Dutch.
3) About all of the good players will play, if your team isn’t playing the World XI, a few of your great players will be.
Give the ICC Super Series another chance
Thanks for the comment Ryan.
It is a bit of “In my perfect world” article. I believe that the fans would love to see it played to its full potential. But like you said, players pulling out because they could get injured is a big problem.
Give the ICC Super Series another chance
Thanks for reading my article. Yes defiantly, the reason I would put India as the hosts for the first tournament is because of their love of the game. I reckon that the Indians would embrace the new competition and low crowd numbers wouldn’t be a problem.
Give the ICC Super Series another chance
As you can tell from my profile picture, I am a West Australian and I myself would love a rugby league team in Perth. It would be great if the team name was still ‘The Western Reds’ though.
Head to Perth, Dave, you won't regret it
Nice article, being born in the late 1990s and beginning a love of cricket in the summer of 06/07, I haven’t had to much to cheer about since the 5-0 whitewash. And I am loving this new (or old) style of play that Darren Lehmann has brought back.
The Australian desire to win is finally back
I have had enough of Hughes to be honest. He isn’t the next Ponting and I am sick of hearing it. Watson is a excellent limited overs player (in fact he would be one of my first choices if I would pick a T20 team) but not test cricket.
Hughes should replace Watson in South Africa
That run up of Coulter-Nile’s really puts me off him becoming a test player. It’s okay when your only bowling a few overs in limited overs cricket, but not in test cricket. As for Bollinger, he just isn’t up to test standard.
Resting Harris gives Bollinger and Coulter-Nile a sniff
Agreed, Great signing by the Scorchers, I reckon he’ll be a real handful for the opposition.
