My favourite player is Simon Black. He doesnt get all the accolades he should receive, but i am sure he is well respected in the AFL community.

I think Jimmy Pierson should have made the test team.Scored a century in the Shield game for Qld before the Big Bash started and has captained Qld before both in the BBL and the Shield.

Australia confirm their two squads for tours of New Zealand and South Africa

Yes. It is a shame as he is in really good form. He scored a century in the last shield game before the Big Bash started . I would have him in the test team as a backup keeper to Tim Paine.

Maxwell, Neser and Swepson should play in South Africa

I would add Jimmy Pierson to the squad. A experienced wicket keeper and is in great form.

Tanveer Sangha and Wes Agar are in my Aussie T20I squad for NZ tour

Do you think Jimmy Pierson would have a chance to play for Australia this year in either tests or T20s. He is a experienced wicketkeeper and captained the Heat when Lynn was injured.

Maxwell, Neser and Swepson should play in South Africa

Interesting.Fittler has made Nathan Cleary vice captain. He said he hopes making him vice captain will bring the best out of him.

Keary dumped, Holmes returns as Origin Game 2 teams confirmed

Would Jahrome Hughes qualify to play for Qld? If he doesn’t then surely considering the circumstances an exemption could be made to let him play in this series.

The State of Origin contenders

It will be interesting how many memberships the Broncos will get next year if the Brisbane Lions win the AFL grand final this year.

No team deserves the wooden spoon more than the Brisbane Broncos

I think the Broncos have been a victim of circumstances. Having a young team in the key positions has made it virtually impossible for them to compete. The board does have some questions to answer as to why they got rid of players with years of experience from the side. Did they decide to adopt a youth policy but not bother to tell anyone about this. Maybe informing the public would at least they could have done. Another circumstance I think has been that this season there has been a blowout in some matches. I did a check and there have been 8 matches in which there have been matches where there has been a 40 point difference in the scoreline and or a side has scored nil points. I think the 6 again rule change has also made a big difference.

No team deserves the wooden spoon more than the Brisbane Broncos

I think it would be interesting as for there has been such an influx of players from the Pacific islands and New Zealand into the NRL. I work in schools in the Brisbane area and a lot of the schools have quite a few students who have come to this region. The majority of them play rugby league and some have already been signed up as schoolboys to NRL clubs. Maybe the NRL when a club signs up a player they can ask the player that if they come under selection whether they want to play SOO or not and which country they would like to represent.

The best rugby league players don’t have to play State of Origin

If the Tigers go ahead and release Benji for next year. I think the Broncos should grab him and sign him up for 1 year with an option for another year. He would be a great mentor for the young Broncos halves.

The Wests Tigers are right to move on from Benji Marshall

If they decided to change our current anthem i would go for The Seekers song We are Australian. The song to me uses the right lyrics incorporating us all together. It is a really great song.

Two Aussies won't sing the national anthem. Let's find out why

According to a video by our beloved coach the selectors can make only minimal changes as the players currently in the shield competition are only averaging around 30. He says they have to score more runs to be picked.

Another Test selection embarrassment after Australia's Melbourne meltdown

In regards to having a 2nd Brisbane NRL team i remembered a article about having a stadium at Springfield.I looked it up and it seems the Brisbane Lions are relocating to Springfield to be their new elite administration and training base.It would be interesting to see how many juniors they can come up with when the area is fully developed.

The Sharks must consider relocation

If i had to pick a side now this would be my Qld State of Origin side:
1-Billy Slater
Valentine Holmes,Corey Oates
Dane Gagai,Dale Copely
Cameron Munster
Daley Cherry Evans
Tim Glasby
Jake Granville
Scott Bolton
Jason Bukaya
Josh Papalii
Josh McGuire
Reserves
Christian Welch,Anthony Milford,Jai Arrow,Joe Ofenagaue.

BREAKING: Greg Inglis ruled out of Origin 3

After the loss to England in the 1st ODI in Melbourne,i think there should be just a couple of changes a couple of players being dropped and a couple of new faces being brought in.Here would be my team for the next ODI :
Finch
Warner
Smith
Short
Stoinis
Carey(wk)
Cummins
Starc
Hazelwood
Boyce
Tye.
As you can see i dropped M.Marsh and Tim Paine. It is along the line of thinking that since the majority of the side played in the Ashes series,i think it is a bit harsh for them to backup and play the ODIs also especially when there is more than enough talent in the T20s to make the change.

England hammer Australia in ODI opener, and this time it was the bowlers at fault

I would go for youth and put Jack Wildermuth in.He is only 24 but has been playing well for the Bulls this season. With Australia leading 2-0 ,i think now would be a chance to introduce some new blood into the team.I know everyone is going for Maxwell but he has been in and out of the side.So why not try someone new.

Australia needs a fifth bowling option but it ain't Mitch Marsh

Yes ,im a Qlder but I think he should be given a chance especially in the form he is in and it is being played on his home deck.He went of the boil for a while for over a year, but he was injured and being young you have to expect some inconsistincies as they develop. If he fails, then send him back to SS to get some more runs, but if he does well then you have a long -term prospect for the side.

My Australian team for the Gabba

If Watson is ruled out my side would be:
Rogers
Warner
Doolan
Clarke
Smith
Lynn
Haddin
Cutting
Siddle
Harris
Lyon
I have been impressed by Lynns form throughout the Ryobi Cup and the century he scored against the England side in the first tour match he has the makings of a top class batsman and if he maintains the form for the next couple of matches he might be a bit of a Smokie for the side for the first test

My Australian team for the Gabba

Full credit to Manly ,they showed the qualities of a very good side.As for the Broncos i am lucky i decided not to get a season ticket this year. The first half was good, but the 2nd half was the worse half of football from a Broncos team i have seen in years. No disrespect to Sam Thaiday he is a very good player but a captain he is not.I thought Alex Glenn should have been captain as he captained the under 20s Broncos side from which most of the current Broncos side come from.I would be interested if Hook lasts e year if halfway through season the Broncos are languishing down near the bottom of the table.

Sea Eagles outlast the Broncos
