It’s interesting to see that rise in revenue even as we watch the broadcast, sponsorship and attendance figures drop from prior highs.
All while the combined increase in revenues across rival competitions dwarfs our growth and sees an increasing attraction for players we’d dearly love in our main comp.
We must not just maintain but continue to grow the national footprint, we must be economically sustainable. For me a domestic comp with Wallabies selected from where our best players are is our only path.

I think those packs match up pretty well and the bigger determinant would be how they compete as a unit rather than one set of players outclassing the others.
Obviously others will have other opinions over who should be in the team but even more than opinion we won’t see the above as there will be injuries and Australia will not select all the overseas based players.

It’s under Revenue and Other income. 31,195,000 described as World Rugby Grants.
As I say separate from the Financial Liability line that wiped from 10,154,000 to zero in World Rugby Funding which was the bailout/early payment of World Cup Participation money.

What’s the value to take that one game a week off free to air?
I can’t see that’s it’s very much so why would Fox come in with a significantly larger offer.
RA will be banking on the shared broadcast revenue with NZ, not that RA are bringing much to the party.

They spent 2.4m on interest last year, at current rates will spend 5.3m this year.
The absolute kicker for me is that professional fees increased by 2.8m (1.9m up to 4.7m).
They say most of that 2.8m was professional advice helping arrange the new loan.

WR seem to have given RA 32m and I’ve no idea what it is.
That seems to be on top of forgiving the 10m we owed from their prior bail out (which was written off as an advance on our WC participation).
Our loan note from Ares was paid off by the new loan from PEP but the debt jumped, 25m last year is now 50m – worth calling out the interest rate is a smidge better at 6.25% over the swap rate (previously 7m over).

I think it’s quality of attack structure. Anyone looks better out of what the Tahs have been doing.
Tahs have been better in that respect the last few weeks but no where near good enough earlier in the season, nor all of last.

For me that’s a pretty cosmetic difference as both have the shoulder lead the contact and then the arm come around. I’m fine with both of them. Ref adjudged one differently.
Was reminded from all this of Wycliff Palu’s tackle on Rob Kearney that I thought was a legal tackle but Kaplan deemed a yellow.
