HALF TIME THOUGHTS: Warriors 10 Panthers 6
Scrappy game in truth. For a 15 minute period early in the half there, we didn’t see a completion. Warriors looked to be doing it easier early on and made their dominance count with two lucky tries to Henry and Johnson (intercept). Penrith looked like they didn’t really want to be out there at times and were just going through the motions. They began to pick it up as the half went on with some backline raids that showed some promise. Got good reward with their late try from one such backline shift. If you want evidence why these teams are battling it out near the bottom of the table, look no further than this half of football. On paper, Warriors should really have too much with half a dozen or so internationals in their line up but if the attitude isn’t there, it won’t matter. Hopefully the quality of the contest will improve in the second half. For now it’s tight but it ain’t pretty.
