Walsh kick goes dead. 20m tap from NZ. Might be a tactic, let’s see.

Panthers defence waiting for the Warriors big men already. Not a great sign early. Simmonds retrieves kick and Panthers look to bring it out from inside their 20m.

TRY WARRIORS: Kicked through on 4th tackle, Panthers fullback Gordon fumbles the grubber and Ben Henry places left hand on the loose ball. Little too soft there. Kick missed by Maloney 4-0

We’re off! Should be an open game of football with both teams having nothing to lose. Warriors kick off and Tim Grant brings it back for the Panthers.

Panthers in pink today. Something to do with strawberry milk again? Women in League has come and gone so that’s my best guess.

In team news, Brad Tighe has pulled with a high fever for Penrith. He will be replaced by Tom Eisenhuth who will make his first grade debut. Along with Adam Docker, that’s two debutants for the away team today.

For the Warriors, Konrad Hurrell played for the Vulcans yesterday and is out today. Ben Henry moves from the second row into the centres to cover, Elijah Taylor moves up to second-row and Sebastine Ikahihifo comes off the bench into lock. Russell Packer will start the game at prop and Sione Lousi will move back to the bench. Pita Godinet, named as 18th man will also start from the bench.

Join us shortly for kick off. Feel free to share your thoughts during the game.

Toyota Cup FT score: Warriors 18 def Panthers 16.

Both of these NYC teams are in the eight, with the Warriors in third and the Panthers in fifth. Some consolation for both clubs after a forgettable season in first grade.

Good morning (morning?) and welcome to Mt Smart Stadium for this bottom of the table clash between the Warriors and the Panthers. The home team has an outside sniff of making the eight, but with five straight losses heading into today and the need for the planets to be in perfect alignment, hopes aren’t high. Little to play for in reality. To call this a pre-season trial for 2013 would not be entirely inaccurate.

First grade kicks off in about 20 mins. We’ll have team news shortly.

FULL TIME REPORT: Knights 36 Raiders 6

That’s three straight wins for the Knights for the first time under Wayne Bennett. Bennett will be pleased with the result but even more pleased with the performance. Would have been easy for the Knights to give up points when the game was clearly won but they held firm, though, to be fair, the Raiders were not much of a threat. Knights held a deserved lead at the break but really went on with it in the second stanza. Uate was the deserved man of the match, but Roberts and Naiqama were also strong for the victors. Are they serious contenders for the title? Probably not at this stage but a stiffer test against the competition front-runners next week will tell us a lot more. Furner, in contrast, has a lot of work to do with his troops. How on earth a team, in the space of four weeks, can beat the Sharks and Storm away from home and capitulate so badly at home to the Titans and now the Knights is a mystery. Attitude must be one thing the Raiders’ coaching staff will have to look into. Paying supporters deserve more. Raiders will slip to 13th in the ladder, while the Knights could find themselves as high as eighth by the end of tonight.

Thanks for joining us this afternoon. Hope you enjoyed the coverage on The Roar. Don’t forget to flip over now to the Rabbits v Tigers game for more live blogs and scores. We’re also back on tomorrow night for Broncs vs Eels from Suncorp Stadium.

TRY KNIGHTS. Robbie Rochow off the bench takes the ball, stops, steps and sprints for the line. Dislocates digit in the process but he won’t care. Trainer pops it back in. Try converted by Roberts

Knocked on by Raiders again trying to intercept the ball. More pressure here for the Raiders defensive line.

Picker held up on the line on the last. Good scramble from the Knights. Bennett will want to see more of this defence in the remaining 11 minutes. Try saver from Roberts around the ankles in that set too.
