Which AFL players fly under the radar?
Every team has that one player. That one player that nobody rates or is thought to be overrated. I'm not talking about the kids…

From what I’ve heard, albeit happy to admit club rumour, is they have enough for an offer around 900k a year.
Hawthorn in their glory years consistently kept players and attracted players to come for unders for a chance at success. So not impossible to say WC will be able to lure locals back in the same way.
Having said that, I think he’s more likely to end at Hawthorn or stay with GWS than go to Carlton though.
Just my opinion.
The training wheels are off as David Teague lands Carlton job for good
We’ll see, I think you’ll find WCE have enough cap space to land one of them. Albeit WC won’t be able to offer the monster deals of some of the other clubs.
Family, home state, playing for the club he grew up supporting, brand new stadium, best training facilities in the country at Lathlain and a higher chance at success that the other teams in the race can offer.
Might be enough to get a lower offer accepted.

I can’t remember a group of supporters getting so excited and outspoken about a team that has achieved nothing..
A club that has finished 18th, 14th, 16th, 18th and looks likely to finish 15th or 16th again this year..
Potential is nothing until it is recognised…
Teague named new Carlton coach
Wouldn’t exactly say they are bad at the G would you

Will end up at WCE

Aren’t they currently on the largest winning streak of any interstate team in Victoria ever?

And yet WC make more than all of them without pokies
WC is by far the most marketable club in the AFL
You'll never guess which club Gill McLachlan wants Coniglio to be at in 2020
And Carlton can’t offer what WCE can in media profile and sponsorship deals

“Neither are offering the amount of money the blues are. So if he wants money he can go to Carlton.”
Short of sitting in on meetings with his manager and other teams you have no idea, like the rest of us, what he is being offered from whom.
All I am saying is that if money is the driving factor then why wouldn’t he stay with GWS, as they can offer him a huge deal as well.
As can Hawthorn for that matter..

I don’t think you can argue possible success from a Carlton perspective…
If he wants success he will go to WCE or stay at the Giants.
If he wants money he can stay at the Giants or go to Hawthorn.
If he wants to play with his best mate he ends up at Hawthorn.
Obviously no one can rule out any team at this point as none of us know anything other than rumour but I cannot see any reason why he would choose Carlton over any of the other teams mentioned..

Last I heard it was the Saints that had offered the mother-load offer?
Sure they might..
Another way to look at it could be, they also have the best inside mid in the league to come back, Scully will only get better as will Wingard, add Patton to that and the Hawks look reasonably balanced.
Certainly in the short term I would back to be more of a chance to be successful than Carlton..

Logically I think there are only 3 clubs in the equation for Cogs..
Hawthorn, GWS and West Coast.
If Cogs wants to go to Victoria he is going for 1 reason, to be near his best mate in O’meara. If that is his reason, why would he choose Carlton or St Kilda when he can play with his best mate rather than just be close to him, especially with Clarkson there.
He doesn’t strike me as the type of player that will move for Money but if that does become an issue GWS has moved on players and will likely be trading Patton at years end solely for this reason.
You cannot tell me that they do not have the money to spend on Cogs, especially with back ended deals.
West Coast becomes part of the equation because the price Geelong will be asking for Kelly will be too high for West Coast to match.
Back to his home state, near family to a team that is primed for a few more years of success and one that he barracked for as a kid.

Don’t lose any sleep actually Yattuzzi..
I have no compassion for anyone who discriminates against someone else because of their race, religion or sexual orientation, especially public figures who have a very wide reach.
All I am saying is that the only thing the Goodes and Ablett issues have in common is that they are very good footballers that have been boo’d.
One exponentially worse than the other
No excuse to boo Goodes
But it’s okay for Folau to discriminate against people because of their sexual orientation?
As far as I am aware Goodes has never discriminated against anyone, been discriminated against.
Folau did though, and Ablett and Kennedy through their sharing/liking supported that discrimination.
I don’t think the two can be compared.
Definitely Ablett being boo’d and Kennedy not being boo’d really shows the hypocrisy of the ones booing Ablett, although that may have more to do with the fact that Ablett is a bit more of a worry for opposition fans.
No excuse to boo Goodes
“I’m reminded of what many anti Israel Folau proponents state ie you’re welcome to have your beliefs but if you state them publicly don’t be surprised (or get upset) if there are consequences for doing so.”
Except that race isn’t a belief..
No excuse to boo Goodes
If WCE can’t do it, I’d love to see the Lions win it all!
Definitely one of the more exciting teams to watch!
Five talking points from AFL Round 19
I just don’t see it happening. If he’s coming to Melbourne why not take a huge payday from the Saints or the Blues, can still live with his best bud then?
I’m calling it as WC or staying with the Giants ????
Six talking points from AFL Round 17
BTW did Hawthorn shorten today to odds on to get Coniglio into its medical rooms?
Maybe WCE have BM?
They’ve had a great run of keeping players on the field..
Six talking points from AFL Round 17
Definitely one of the more exciting teams to watch this year!
Would be a little concerned over their Melbourne form, albeit hard to judge given like any interstate team play limited games there.
Have played 5 games there this year for 2 wins and 3 losses.
Have only played 1 game at the G so far this year where they were soundly beaten by the Dons. Only play one more game there this year against the Tigs in round 23.
Could be a game for top 4, what a match!
The Lions aren't just a finals contender, they're a premiership contender
And you’re just making things up. Fact.
It is well known that WC were going to draft Kelly. Kelly had trained with WC in the lead up to the draft. Sure they missed out, didn’t go as early as the Cats did. That’s the way the cookie crumbles and the Cat’s will reap the benefits of either a great player or draft picks.
Firstly no one knows what any clubs salary cap looks like, secondly the fact that WC are still looking at both Kelly and Cogs suggests that cap space isn’t an issue.
Everyone stuffed up on Kelly. He nominated for the NATIONAL DRAFT every club passed on him..
Cats confident of keeping Kelly
To be honest I would rather WCE went harder at Cogs than Kelly
Cats confident of keeping Kelly
Yes I did, in response to the Cat’s ‘discovering him’. That clearly shows that they weren’t the only ones or even the first ones knee deep in Kelly..
I don’t believe that West Coast messed up.
Would I love Kelly, yes but I am comfortable with WCE choice in taking Brander and Allen as the best two talls in that draft before Kelly.
I claim that literally anyone COULD of taken him as every team had used draft picks before that point..
Your constant WCE bashing is annoying. Dude, it’s a new year, get over fact that your useless mob couldn’t beat them after being 5 goals up on their own home deck last year in September..
Cats confident of keeping Kelly
I guess we can all only speculate until it all goes down
