Love my League love my Union, Actually I love all sports just in varying degrees. My name is Phillip Tovey. My blog is www.looseheadprop.com.au and as you can take from my blog name I am a bit of a rugby tragic. Love both league and Union and am a Life Member of the Moorebank Rugby League Football Club, but have aligned myself in recent years with the game they play in heaven, starting the Alexandria Dukes Rugby Football Club which I am the President. I’m married to a gorgeous, smart, amazing, woman who supports me in all my endeavors. We have a son who is our world. I am lucky to have them both. wpid-2013-08-03-20.55.26.png My blog like my posts on the roar will not be serious all the time and will be a place for me to vent, share opinion and jokes. Hopefully if your reading this you can understand sarcasm and not take things too serious. Roar on.

The EPL has its history. Rugby League also has its history. We do have a trophy for first past the post, much like the EPL system..

But Rugby League does not have an equivalent Champions League or anything of that nature . So if your trying liken the way things are in the NRL to EPL, then the NRL finals are like playing in the Champions League.

NRL Finals football versus the EPL system

Played better than the Samoa game, but that was the difference of having those “superstars” in Cooper and Genia and co. Australian Rugby is walking a tightrope at present, because if we do loose one or more of those “superstars” to injury we are goosed.

As for talk about best team on the pitch. With the current injuries we have, I think we did have the best team we could possibly field out there.

One week on, are we any happier about Wallabies?

This is a load of crud. Let the man play for his country.

American blocked from Rugby World Cup by contract

Never claimed it as my own KotG. But was busy getting married so I’ve just been gettin my self back in routine.

Rugby World Cup rules for partners

I think you’ll find at least some of the money for the Dragons grounds was done via a $1 for $1 with the state government. The community rased cash for the club who then had it matched.

Time for Brookvale to sell out

I am still of the belief that Elsom really doesn’t have the drive to play at the top level anymore. Since he came back from Europe he has been lack-lustre. Obviously he has been out all this year, but when interviewed he seemed quite relaxed about not playing. As a footballer I would have thought that you’d be dying to get on the pitch. I know I am by theend of the week.

Elsom philosophical over injury woes

Hope they do. Don’t like the chances if they play half a game again.

Hickey eyes top four finish for Waratahs

Stupid. Go around forcing your thoughts and religious views on people, but font play touch football cause that is against gods law.

Rugby league the game they play in Heaven?

Fark. I’m watching tonight with 1,3,4,and 5. I’m goosed may need to call up sick and get home and watch there.

State of Origin night: five people to avoid!

I think the key point there is to get Public/State schools involved. As soon as you do that you stop being the sport that only private schools play to a sport that everyone plays.

The sad decline of GPS rugby continues

hahahahaha

The sad decline of GPS rugby continues

Yes, but they don’t play that way for the whole game.

They turn off, and then so do the fans.

As for the fitness thing i’m not sure about that, but I think it may be something deeper. I still cringe when I think back to Ben Mowens comments at the start of the year after having put on a reported 17kgs of muscle in the off season. ” I feel like I know have the confidence to play well”.

Comments like that all points to a wee bit of softcockitus. I think maybe it is running rampant through Australian Rugby at the moment.

Waratahs face their finals test in South Africa

I concur with Footbal United. You should not have points awarded or removed for games in a seperate competition.

The NRL needs a new Knockout Cup

If the rumour mill is true he may have been excluded from playing anyway.

Willie Mason released from Hull

They have been playing the same way since the 1st trial against Fiji. I was one of the 14000 there but next week they play in Sydney it will be one less. I’d be much happier if we did not make the semis, cause if we play like that against any team who is semi decent they will tear us a new one.

Waratahs face their finals test in South Africa

Their all a bunch of soft belly bums. Harden up. Fans keep the game alive. If no o e comes to watch you don’t get paid. Don’t tell us we play this way, like it or lump it. If your on top of the table, sure. If you average on the side if poor then pull your head in.
The competition has bonus points which mean the difference between finals and an early summer.

Waratahs supporters vent their frustrations

He is a germ and brings down our sport. Get rid of him.

Roosters need to stand by Todd Carney

Is there a market around that the Suns first win will be against GWS next year?

How low will Suns' crowds go after more thrashings?

Willie is a d!ck. End of.

Willie Mason isn't worth the paper his contract is on

I think the guard has changed.

Can the wilting Waratahs defeat the rampant Reds?

I cringed and put my hands in my head when I heard one of the big boys say, “Now I have this extra bulk i’m more confident to go into a ruck”.

WTF – I think its time that we started breeding rugby players rather than sissies.

Can the wilting Waratahs defeat the rampant Reds?

Waratahs a playing inconsistent football. It has been shown from as early as the first trial game this year that it would be a issue. Reds have grown an extra few legs since the teams last clashed, and should account for the tahs quite easily.

Tahs will loose royaly to the Reds and will be lucky to beat anyone else outside of the Australian conference for the rest of the season.

Can the wilting Waratahs defeat the rampant Reds?

Don’t bother. It’s a game thats just good the way it is here and now.

What would the AFL need to do to expand beyond Australia?

No one wants to go to Pakistan. No way forward there.

Pakistan plans own version of IPL

Whinge Whinge Whinge. I think its actually good for the game as people are talking about the game all the time. I think its genius from the NRL to get all this publicity.

I, like Turvey, would like to see more talking about “the matches”, but while we’re talking about “the Game” as a whole we’re not talking about AFL or the Rugby.

I think as for the mid season changes it is a good thing as players and fans know where they stand. May be bad for someone like Rick Stone, but he’s a professional and he’ll do the job to the best he can with the stock he has.

Big money deals, but what about the footy?
