But after the mass exodus of key players, of which Max Allegri was not responsible nor completely ready for, third is very respectable. No other team has the form in 2013 Milan has had and that is thanks to Allegri!
Allegri is best for AC Milan
Thanks! Pogba is a great example of young players able to thrive. Max Allegri has done well too with Milan introducing Niang, De Sciglio and El Shaarawy into the starting eleven on many occasions.
Should the Serie A adopt a reserve league?
Yes, same in Germany too although they can only play third tier which I really don’t think is enough. I think we need to aim for reserve teams to be allowed in Serie B.
Should the Serie A adopt a reserve league?
I can remember watching Ozil at the 2010 World Cup and remarking how he was only playing for Werder Breman!! One of the best players of the tournament!
Coutinho one of the buys of the season
They have a relegation system, with about ten or more levels but this would either be a reserve league by itself, similar to England or clubs submitting B teams to lower leagues. Check out the Forza Italian Football linked above for more info!
Should the Serie A adopt a reserve league?
Italian football has just been rocked by scandal in previous years and as soon as other clubs get on bored with this idea, Italy has the potential to rise. Your last paragraph sums up exactly what I’m feeling! An all German UCL is unheard of so its a great sign.
Should the Serie A adopt a reserve league?
Sorry, yeah, Spain has the system you are talking about but Italy is either looking at adopting that system or creating a new reserve league.
Should the Serie A adopt a reserve league?
Happy to write on Italian football because it not covered that well in Australia! Check out some of my other Italian football articles if you want! Really appreciate comments and feedback!
I do agree that Milan have been a disappointment this season and although they have spent money being assembled, there is a lot of fresh blood in the squad. I think Allegri just needs one more year. Next year we can rip the living shreds out of him if he fails, but until then, I wait.
Allegri is best for AC Milan
Unfortunately he does disappoint in many games but the curva sud’s banner seemed to reinforce fan support form him. I don’t think Seedorf is the man to coach Milan… YET. Milan is not a place for coaches to be debuted. Let him do the Pippo Inzaghi first and coach a youth team to prove himself.
There are only a hand full of coaches I would feel confident replacing Allegri. I like Prandelli as a possible replacement. He doesn’t just choose those who play every game. He chooses on form. If a player is playing well, he’s in the squad. He also has a good eye for young players.
Allegri is best for AC Milan
He has played Constant when De Sciglio is either out of form or on the right. De Sciglio has had many great games, but a few that weren’t great. I do think that in many games Constant has left a lot to be desired and against Barcelona, maybe he was the wrong choice. Pirlo was out of form when we sold him (and even though this was because he wasn’t playing comfortably, Allegri didn’t want to build his team around an aging player) and it was an unfortunate thing that he recovered his form well for Juventus. Against Barcelona, Milan only made one unforced change for the second leg so I don’t know why you’re blaming Allegri for stirring things up. The team is behind Allegri too.
Must try Allegrini sometime then! Haha!

Nocerino and Pazzini play different positions and Nocerino simply did not perform on the day. Pazzini just happened to play well as a sub after not scoring at all in Balotelli’s absence. Nocerino was given a chance and didn’t make the most of it. Simple. And I’m saying that Milan really flopped towards the end of last season reflective of the season they had had. Allegri is a class manager who over the past three season’s has been the most consistent manager in Serie A. Even if they were to come fourth, he would still be the most consistent! Saying he is a nobody and should be at Cagliari is like saying Mourinho should be coaching Hamburg! At Cagliari he set a precedent which is still yet to be achieved by any manager since he left. He is a class manager and fact will tell you that.
Allegri is best for AC Milan
Good point! He really has laid a foundation for next season and received a top three result at the same time! Give him one more season I say. Not too many managers who could do what he’s done.
Allegri is best for AC Milan
I think you’ll find the players are giving him great feedback. Whether or not that is honesty is debatable… But Galliani will fight to keep him. Only under Berlusconi would a manager be fired after reaching top three in all years he’s been with the club.
Allegri is best for AC Milan
There are few players that have ever “wowed” me. Messi, Ronaldo, Balotelli, Nasri, El Shaarawy and Coutinho. There’s something about watching him, especially when he was with Inter, that made me just think, “Who is this kid?” A great player, snapped up for chips.

Bayern won 4-0 yesterday and Dortmund 4-1 today… I hate to say it but my prediction of an all German final is coming true…
Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid don’t deserve to be in the final four
Its not so much about naming other who deserve to be there, the article simply deals with the fact that really Borussia Dortmund has had the only campaign that makes their position in the tournament deserved.
Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid don’t deserve to be in the final four
I have a special feeling about the Rabbitoh’s this week. I just feel that Melbourne won’t be able to play their best, knowing their opponents are also undefeated and playing at home. It will be close either way, but I’m thinking the Rabbits.
2013 NRL season: Round six preview
Being a good team shouldn’t automatically guarantee you a passage to the finals. Teams like Manchester City got knocked out in the group stage deservedly, even though on paper, they are a much stronger side than Dortmund. I am a Milan fan and concede that Barcelona’s win was clinical and sharp, but really, against Milan, they should not be losing, even if it is at the San Siro.
Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid don’t deserve to be in the final four
Hahaha, maybe one day that might happen! I’m happy with the teams that are through, I just really think there needs to be a discussion on how the big teams play in European competition because some of the time, they leave a lot to be desired.
Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid don’t deserve to be in the final four
I am willing to definitely concede that if Borussia lose the next round it would simply have been a fluke that they made it to the current stages. I am not feeling that they will flop in the next round, based on their current campaign though. They may be the best teams, but they have been playing extremely disappointing football and that is what makes me feel they will not win this competition. I think that Bayern and Borussia are the two teams that deserve to be in the final the most. Barcelona and Madrid, with the teams they have, should not lose games, even against quality opposition, yet that is what has happened.
Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid don’t deserve to be in the final four
I think you have to consider the form of Juventus. They hardly had an extremely competitive campaign and lets face it, flopped. It was nothing of the Juventus we are used to seeing and for Bayern to only put two goals in each game past them, was frankly a disappointment. Bayern have had a reasonable campaign and will most likely be in the final no matter which team they face next. Its all about the ability of the teams and whether they have done enough to prove they can win this competition. I am honestly expecting an all German final.
Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid don’t deserve to be in the final four
I am in no doubt they are in the six best teams in the world however their performances in the Champions League are extremely substandard. These are teams that should be gliding through all the stages up until now, yet Dortmund who has done this. I know it is by no means a popular opinion but I welcome the debate. The best teams should be able to mount successful Cup, European and league campaigns. I do like the current line up and they all play great football, there are just teams that really have punched above their weight, unlike Bayern, Barcelona and Madrid.
Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid don’t deserve to be in the final four
What I’m trying to say is that these teams have not demonstrated the fact they can play the kind of football the final four deserves. Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern have such quality players that to be losing games when Dortmund hasn’t is simply not good enough. I’m not saying they are bad teams, I’m simply saying that these teams have barely scraped through some of the stages. The teams that deserve to be there are the ones that show complete complete control over their opponents throughout the tournament.
Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid don’t deserve to be in the final four
Thanks Walter! Someone who gets it!
