'Absolutely': Why All Blacks great is firmly behind Kurtley Beale's push for a Wallabies comeback

Prop Benn Robinson has finally pulled the pin on his attempt to be fit for the Rugby World Cup, succumbing to a knee injury which has plagued him since early July.
Robinson had tried to delay surgery on his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in a hope to be fit, but last night posted on his Twitter account:
“Heading in for surgery tomorrow !! Pushed real hard to make it but knee just isn’t right !! Very disheartening !!”.
Robinson told Fairfax media he couldn’t finish a run last week, and made the decision to ensure his longevity in the game after speaking with Phil Waugh.
”I think after Tuesday when I ran around and couldn’t finish the run, it gave me time to assess where I was at. I came to the realisation that [the World Cup] is a dream that is not going to come true.
”I spoke to Phil about when to push and when not to push, at the start he told me to train as hard as I could but when it came to the crunch and I wasn’t right, he changed his tune,” Robinson said.
”It took me the weekend to make a call. I look at Al Baxter and at his age [34] he is still pushing for a World Cup place. In the next four years I’ll be 30, 31, so the long-term goal is to make it for the next World Cup,” said Robinson.
