The Group 1 Galaxy (1100m) looks one for the real sprinters and it could be the race where Terravista nabs a Group 1? Join The Roar before the race start time of 5:10pm for commentary and late mail.

Chautauqua found the 58kg too heavy to win the Newmarket, Terravista should have already claimed a Group 1 if not for Damien Oliver bungling the whip. I think the weight may be the issue but being unbeaten at this distance and having a great record here and on wet tracks can’t be dismissed.

Malaguerra is showing some great form since being gelded. If he gets the run he will be extremely competitive here.

Famous Seamus the huge overs, hasn’t been given a weight like this for a long time and with three wins over the distance in six starts is completely underrated. Goes okay on wet tracks, one to include at massive odds.

Our Boy Malachi was disappointing when fancied in the Canterbury. He hasn’t been missed at the weights, that’s for sure. Ball of Muscle disappointed as well behind English in the Challenge Stakes, could blinkers first time make a difference?

Fell Swoop is solid over this distance and I watched him absolutely smash them on a wet track in Canberra last year, didn’t have much go his way in the Oakleigh if it did he would have won. Based on that he’s my pick for this race.

Boss Lane showed some signs in the Challenge and if he improves on that run he is a big chance at odds.

English is under the odds for mine. She’s not overly well at the weights and she was so primed first up in that Challenge win, you can take her at the $4 but I think others are better, the soft track will play a part as well, she’s had just one start in those conditions and didn’t place.

Pittsburgh Flyer ran on in the Oakleigh and suggestions are if she gets a start could win at big odds.

I’m sticking with Fell Swoop here but also going to have some money on Famous Seamus.
