One of the greatest racehorses in history, Winx will be back in action for the first time in 2019 at the Group 2 Apollo Stakes. This is The Roar’s guide to watching the race on TV, or streaming it online.

Raced at Randwick over a distance of 1,400 metres, Winx will be going for a staggering 30th straight win in what is one of the early Autumn Carnival races.

The race is scheduled as the sixth of the day at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, with it set to get underway at 3:50pm on Saturday, February 16.

How to watch the Apollo Stakes on TV

To watch the Apollo Stakes on TV, the best bet will be to use Channel 7. Despite losing coverage of the Melbourne Cup, they still broadcast the bulk of free to air racing in Australia.

Their coverage, featuring races from both Randwick and Flemington, will begin at 12:30pm (AEDT).

As always, you’ll also be able to use Sky Racing to watch the action (and other races around the country without major pauses between them, as will be the case on Seven), however, for this, you will need a valid Foxtel TV subscription, complete with the sports package of channels.

How to live stream the Apollo Stakes online

The first way is to go through the official broadcaster, Seven. The race (and the others from Randwick and Flemington throughout the day) will be live streamed on 7Plus, their official online streaming service.

Several betting websites such as Sportsbet.com.au, BetEasy or Ladbrokes.com.au offer live streams of racing, however, you need to have made an account with the website and may need to have funds deposited in order to access it. Each website will differ in their rules and regulations for how to stream the race though, so you should check there before making a decision.

The Roar can’t confirm which betting companies are streaming the race though, so you should check with your provider before making plans.

You can also register with Racing.com to get access to a stream of the action.
