Two meetings to look at this Tuesday, with Tabcorp Park Menangle and Albion Park getting my focus. Down below is best bets for the respective programs.

Tabcorp Park Menangle

Best bet: Race One Number 3 Funky Monkey
Quality trotting mare who should win again. Three-from-three since arriving from NZ. She wasn’t as brilliant last time compared to the previous two wins, but was still good enough to get the job done.

Has the gate speed to get across and lead this field up, and from there, should take plenty of running down.

Next best: Race Four Number 7 Rave On Hall
The manners can be off at times, but if he does everything right, he’s too good for this lot. Gave them a spanking at this track two back before an early gallop last start, which put pay to his chances.

His subsequent trial was very sharp and does show good speed from the mobile, so think he finds the front and will prove too good.

Value: Race Five Number 2 Shes All Star
Something very small each way on this former Western Australia mare, who is now with Leon Jurd and he is a very capable trainer when it comes to a tried horse.

On her recent form in WA, you couldn’t touch her, but is drawn the pole, should do no work in the run… could easily run a place at a big price.

Albion Park

Best bet: Race Two Number 3 Itz Major Rich
Pretty keen on his chances. He’s third up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness. Has had little luck in both runs back from a spell, the latest seeing him parked for the trip.

This field, as a whole, looks thin, and with gate speed, he finds the front and with race fitness, think he beats Frontliner.

Next best: Race Three Number 10 Orlando Jolt
Just needs to get away cleanly and he wins. Ran on Saturday night in a stronger race and gee, he had no luck in the run. Was bolting but just couldn’t get a clear crack at them.

This looks a very much suitable race and provided he gets away safely from the tape, he’ll be taking this out.

Value: Race Four Number 1 Notorious
He’s a great each way gamble in a competitive race. Didn’t get the rub of the green from a second row draw last time out and should have finished much closer in a luckless effort.

He has gate one to use and if he can hold a forward spot, he’ll only run well against this lot.
