Two meetings to look at on Thursday night, with Kilmore and Penrith getting my focus. Down below are your best bets for the respective programs.

Kilmore

Best bet: Race Two Number 1 Trent From Punchy
This looks a really good bet hey… put in take out job hey. The horse looks to have more brains than his namesake.

Been out of the winners list for a little while but for the most part, he has contested races far stronger than what he faces here, and drawn the pole, he should have little trouble leading and proving hard to run down.

Next-best: Race One Number 1 Aimforthestarzzz
Confident this can be an all the way win in the opener. There was plenty of merit in his last start effort at Cranbourne after showing good gate speed from a wide draw, he had to sit outside the leader for the majority of the race and fought on well to finish third.

Should lead comfortably from the pole and will take some beating.

Value: Race Ten Number 3 Skyrita
Can make a little case for this mare at odds. Yet to trouble the scoreboard in six career outings, but with time and experience, she is getting better with each outing, and was good late from off the speed at Ballarat last start.

She’ll likely ease back for cover and be strong at the end.

Penrith

Best bet: Race One Number 4 Beaudine Western
Should be a pretty painless watch.

Former WA pacer that has his first run in NSW for Paul Fitzpatrick. His form, mainly at Gloucester Park, was just fair, but now in Sydney, gee, his trials have been impressive. He’ll likely be short, but should be far too good and is a decent multi anchor for the night.

Next-best: Race Three Number 8 Hammertime Harley
Confident that this mare can get the job done in what does look a two-horse race between it and Skippys Delight.

That horse was plain at Armidale last time out and will likely be the odds on pop, whereas this girl should be around the $4 mark.

Led and was awful late at Goulburn given the run she had, but she’s better than that, and will be out of trouble from the outset.

Value: Race Four Number 8 Lani Kai Beach
He’ll need luck from the draw, but if he does get the rub of the green, he’s in with a shout.

Just went too keen in the run at Bankstown last time out so forget he went around there. Had run well at Menangle prior to that and even if buried on the pegs, he’ll do no work and be strong late.
