There are two meetings to look at on Tuesday, with my attention at Menangle and Albion Park.

Below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Menangle

Best bet: Race 4, Number 9, Sobomba
His best will see him take this out. Forgive his last-start effort. He was trucking into the race as a key winning threat but made a mistake and lost all chance. He has since trialled at Penrith and his piece of work there was sound. If he brings his best manners, he wins.

Next best: Race 2, Number 7, Itzfergietime
This looks like a race in two between this girl and Major Creation. Itzfergietime has the good grounding with four career outings and she has shown already that she can do work in the run and still be effective late. Does she lead and cross Major Creation? Perhaps, but likely has to do work in the run. Even allowing for that, she’ll take beating.

Value: Race 6, Number 3, Our Action Man
This is a small each-way ticket at odds. Rickie Alchin trains this three-year-old, who ran in some decent races when last in work and for the most part was far from disgraced. Trials leading in have been solid and with gate speed, this horse can press forward before getting cover, doing no work and being a sneaky chance at a price.

Best bet: Race 2, Number 2, Zacharooni
Rickie Alchin rarely gets it wrong when he brings them to Queensland so I am confident that this colt can return a winner. This horse debuted at Penrith back in February. He showed gate speed early but broke and lost all hope. This horse spelled and trialled very well to get ready and should have the speed to lead and prove hard to get past.

Next best: Race 4, Number 2, Uncle Shank
This horse has a bit of class and quality about him and I am confident he can make a winning return in what looks like a race lacking serious overall depth. He did a really sharp job as a juvenile when last in work. I am keen to see how he goes as a three-year-old. He has trialled up nicely in readiness.

Value: Race 6, Number 1, Glenledi Commander
This is a tricky race so I am happy to have a throw at the stumps via this four-year-old. He hasn’t exactly set the world on fire in his career to date but to be fair, that can be said about most of these. He gets a good gate to use, potentially land leaders back and he will be dangerous at a decent price.
