Chelsea second time lucky in FA Cup final
I’d say I’m excited rather than concerned – short of the Reds winning SR and the Wallabies winning the RC I’d love to see the Jags/Pumas win both comps as it would bloody well freshen things up!
Five things we learned from Super Rugby Round 14
What on earth are you on about? There is nothing unique about these insights. Where have I said I want them to be critical of coaches or teammates? I just want something a bit more in-depth than “the boys have trained well and we want to win”.
WILL MILLER: Christchurch showed us we’re close to a win. Now it’s time to deliver
I think our best chance is by forcing a niggle/knock on Eriksen with a reducer good hard, clean tackle in the early minutes….
Van Marwijk's history shows that he rarely experiments
As a Villa fan I can attest he was a good fill-in, but playing at CM for both the Boro playoff games he was an absolute beast with Terry and Chester at CB behind him.

London Broncos are a full-time professional team are they not? Potential for them to get promoted as well, although their home ground in Ealing might not be up to scratch.
A rugby league postcard from the edge
Sounds great Nobrain. One of my first ports of call once after finding a place to live will be to find the nearest Rugby club and sign up – will miss this season obviously but will be raring to have a run around next year.
Jaguares make the case for defence in Super Rugby
As someone who is moving to Buenos Aires in October I have been following the Jaguares a bit more closely this year and love what I see. Hoping they can improve further next year when I will most definitely be getting to as many matches as possible.

Darren Lehmann reportedly set to resign in wake of ball tampering scandal
I love Football, Rugby Union and Cricket equally – don’t really have much else to add except ‘code wars’ and stuff like this really debase the quality of discourse on the site.
It's the fact that football is a global game that drives its critics crazy
The batting technique display by England yesterday was beyond belief. Looked like they could’t be bothered being there. If any of the sub-continent teams batted like that there’d be cries of match-fixing!
Cummins tears apart South Africa
And also to double-reply to my own comment, I daresay I will be able to find a pub playing both at the same time.
Should Rugby Australia make way for the Socceroos? That and other Super Rugby bits
Of course living in the UK both games kick off at 11am here so it’s a great double-excuse for morning beers.
Should Rugby Australia make way for the Socceroos? That and other Super Rugby bits
I love Rugby Union and Football pretty much equally, but the World Cup is only every 4 years so it will be Socceroos all the way, much like if a Wallabies World Cup game was on at the same time as a Socceroos game I would watch the Wallabies.

Would it be worth reviving the Crushers brand for a 2nd Brisbane team? I am an anti-Broncos Brisbanite and I absolutely loved the Crushers for their 3 years – went to games against Newcastle and St George. which were great fun.
Seem to remember they had a lot of support in the city. Part of me thinks it also might’ve had to do with them playing at Lang Park while the Broncos were out at the atrocious QEII. Good times!
Time for the NRL to expand and grow the game
Central contracts are clearly the best way forward for all of the top nations – Ireland and New Zealand have perfected it, whilst I fear the English and French clubs are too far down the rabbit hole of having more of the power.
Waratahs find a kicking game to contest the Australian conference
Should’ve parked the bus from the start of the second half, Sanchez should’ve fouled Higuain in the build up to the second goal and Lloris really should’ve sprinted out from his line as soon as Dybala was through.
Pochettino, Kane et al will stay for next season at least with the opening of the new stadium, but no more silverware by the end of then and it’s hard to see the core of this group sticking together.
Tottenham tumble at another important hurdle
Fantastic article and really interesting viewpoint.
Compare this with the absolute ‘barely more than a press release’ puff piece that Kurtley Beale “wrote” last week, in which he basically said absolutely nothing at all (like 99% of modern media-trained athlete-robots) and give me this any time!
Being a Wallaby doesn’t entitle you to anything else
Ireland vs Wales was everything great about the Six Nations (I’d say it’s almost the quintessential 6N matchup) – the contest was top drawer and the fans were superb. Who wouldn’t want to drink pints with the Welsh and Irish on a rugby Saturday?
Scotland vs England was unexpected to say the least! England never really got in to the game (much like Arsenal yesterday for the football fans out there) and Scotland were so committed and disciplined. ‘Flaky’ Finn also looked like he could do anything and it would come off, such was his confidence. Add in the roaring Murrayfield crowd it made for a perfect day watching both matches.
The less said about France vs Italy the better…
Reflections on an excellent Six Nations weekend
Scotland = disciplined and committed
England = all over the shop! Looked rattled and didn’t get in to the game at all. Can only imagine what Eddies spray will be to them in the sheds.
Scotland walking the 500 miles to respectability
That Ireland vs Wales match was unreal! Everything great about the 6 Nations.
Scotland walking the 500 miles to respectability
I’d say this years Six Nations campaign from Ireland was by far the most impressive of any 6N champion of the past 6-7 years at least – after the epic get-out-of-jail win over France they ruthlessly dispatched of the others, although Wales did give them a late fright in Dublin.
I rate them above the England team from two years ago that beat us, and I am bloody envious of how they play (Murray and Sexton are a dream combo to watch), how they carry themselves and especially of Joe Schmidt.
I reckon 2-1 Ireland as some of their squad will be absolutely knackered after an absurdly long season.
What will Ireland bring to Australia in June?
