Lomax on the extended bench but otherwise it’s the same team that got hammered by the dogs. I don’t get it. Same team = same results
Seven talking points from NRL Round 14
Dufty made a pretty good ball boy that’s about the only reason I’d keep him
Seven talking points from NRL Round 14
Good bye to them both. Everyone needs to move on. Dufty’s performance yesterday probably cost his $150k on his next deal.
Seven talking points from NRL Round 14
Be interesting to see what squad Hook picks for the Saints this week. Both Dufty & Norman are unwanted yet they keep getting picked.
Norman has been a dud since he was signed & Dufty continues to float in & out his games. His defence against Canterbury was woefully soft. Embarrassing actually.
Saints have only won 2 from their last 9, personally I’d like to see some changes for the must win game against the Raiders. Hopefully Lomax is back.
Seven talking points from NRL Round 14
Baring injury or suspension you’d think he’d stick to the same team from game one. The Penrith 5/8 Luai had a blinder I didn’t realise how good a player he is
The Maroons are awful and the Blues are going to take the series 3-0
The other interesting thing is that there are really good players who could still come into the team, Jack Bird, Zack Lomax, Angus Crichton, Victor Radley, Clint Gutherson & Daniel Tupou plus many others.
The Maroons are awful and the Blues are going to take the series 3-0
That hasn’t been seen since Matt Cooper & Mark Gasnier in ‘05 & ‘06
The Maroons are awful and the Blues are going to take the series 3-0
I called it last night, given the youth of the NSW side we could easily be seeing the start of a NSW Dynasty. Qld are living on past glories, that dream team they had has now gone.
For Qld to be successful they need the Bronco’s to be much better, Brisbane is the nursery for Qld Origin.
The Maroons are awful and the Blues are going to take the series 3-0
I posted last week that Tariq Sims would play very well, he’s been great for the Dragon’s all year. I thought he was unlucky to get replaced by Liam Martin in the second half given that Sims’s stats were so superior to either Yeo & Murray’s.
State of Origin 1 player ratings: NSW Blues
Amazing career, his contribution to the 2010 Saints Premiership was enormous. Legend shame he couldn’t remain a one club player

I don’t think Hunt or Norman are great defenders either.
The point I’m making is that the club is letting Dufty go without even trying him at 5/8. Norman is so slow he’s not a genuine running threat. A running 5/8 is the piece of the puzzle we’re missing
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
I don’t disagree, I’m just being realistic Hook has his ex Bronco favourites so Moose McGuire & Norman will be the first players picked if available.
Six talking points from NRL Round 13
Hook has his favourites & McGuire is one of them. He’s a 80min player at lock. de Belin is much more mobile which is why I can see him playing on an edge.
Six talking points from NRL Round 13
Sorry Scott but outside of injury/suspension/origin Jack Bird won’t be playing 2nd row. Firstly he’s needed in the centre’s & secondly I’ve got a feeling de Belin will play on an edge once he’s regained match fitness, probably round 18 after the bye.
Dragon’s at full strength;
1) Dufty
2) Ramsey
3) Bird
4) Lomax
5) Ravalawa
6) Norman
7) Hunt
8) Lawrie
9) McCullough
10) Vaughan
11) Sims
12) de Belin
13) McGuire
14) Kerr
15) Faamausili
16) Alvaro
17) Amone
Six talking points from NRL Round 13
If Ramsey plays a running style role in 2022 that might work out, roaming around the middle sniffing out offloads.
Also looks like Jordan Pereira is off to Brisbane. First sign of us getting ride of some deadwood
Is Cody Ramsey the next Nathan Blacklock?
I don’t think siebold looked after his injuries very well. siebold was desperate for success so rushed Jack Bird back. Whereas the Dragon’s have looked after him & the results are there to see.
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
To be fair, Saab was signed until end ‘23 but he wanted out for bogus reasons. Probably a McGuber issue.
He’s a moody crybaby his good form won’t last. Besides if he stayed he’d be behind Ramsey & Ravalawa. I was more concerned about giving up Shaun Esuni-Esau I rated him highly
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
Haha I posted an article 12mths ago suggesting this & was widely criticised, how option changes
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
I think there’s a third dimension to this, I predicted Dufty would be extended for at least 12mths. Must be more to the story.
I think Dufty would make an outstanding bench utility in the mould of Craig Wing.
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
That’s the problem signing a coach for only two years. Hook needs experienced players because he needs immediate success.
Anyway Jack is back now along with other players due back in the next two weeks so I’m expecting a uplift in form.
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
Given that Brisbane missed out on Hynes you’d have to think Dufty is on their list as a potential signing. Particularly given that Isaako was hooked in the latter stages of the game last game. Perhaps this is what gave Dufty the extra motivation to have the game of his life!
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
If you haven’t watched it yet, do yourself a solid and watch the team song on the Dragon’s website. It’ll show you how much JdB means to the team. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
Sure, but remember we still let a pretty average Bronco team score 24 points at Kogarah last night plus a average Tigers team score 34 points the week before so there are serious defensive issues anyway.
I’m simply making the point that the more often Dufty gets the ball the more likely we are to score points.
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
Coincidence that Jack de Belin is back to the starting side today?
