Unnamed sources (okay, my Dachshund) told me Anthony Griffin has confirmed his availability to take over immediately, and he’s only asking for a four-year deal.
Seems a perfect match to me.
'Success hasn't been forthcoming': Souths sack Demetriou after fractured board eventually decides time's up
Easts signed Fulton from Manly.
Round 9 Team Lists Late Mail: Benji makes surprise call on Koroisau, Roosters trio OUT as Broncos sweat on Haas
Looks like it’s all over bar the frostbite for those Nix supporters.
Well done – hope you win the championship, you crazy Kiwis. 😊
The Roar's A-League Men tips and predictions: Round 26 - the jostle for finals positions is on in earnest
‘Tis just a flesh wound.
A walk in the park: Super Sam shows Roosters what they've been missing in 60-point Anzac smash-up
I actually thought Macarthur were lucky to get away with just two red cards.
Drew should’ve been dismissed for having the temerity to score. Uskok and Kurto for repeatedly preventing Glam FC from scoring. M’Mombwa played really well and clearly should’ve got a red for his sins. I saw Germain glare and shrug in a Gallic fashion toward several Glam players. He should’ve been dismissed on the first occasion, or at least for repeated infringements.
Shocking officiating! 😱
😁 😁 😁
The Roar's A-League Men tips and predictions: Round 25
Yes, it does.
Sadly, it doesn’t seem to have anything else to do.
CONFIRMED: NRL superstar joins ex-All Blacks coaching greats in Japan - could he do an SBW?
For a number of years in the early 20th century, an outfit known as the Humpybong Steamship Company picked folk up from Brisbane for a cruise up to the peninsula.
As we know from Henry Miller who ran the short-lived penal colony at Redcliffe, the area was (and is) largely untenable as far as human life goes, fundamentally unsuitable for any form of civilisation and contains nothing of interest.
The steamship company promised, and I quote, “refreshments of every description procurable aboard”.
Much as certain establishments of the time advertised themselves as respectable watering holes but were clearly bordellos, I’m convinced the the Humpybong steamer was mostly concerned with vice of ‘every description’. 😊

In other news, Bayern Munich have failed in their bid to eclipse St George’s 11 consecutive championships, with Leverkusen clinching their first Bundesliga this morning: https://www.espn.com.au/football/story/_/id/39942568/leverkusens-alonso-hails-extraordinary-bundesliga-triumph
I understand Germany had been abuzz as Bayern approached Saints’ mark, but alas… 😊
NRL Round 6 Talking Points: Concussion sub needs a fix, learning about 'disruption', why does everyone hate Gutho?
Well, between the Titans gig, the couch at Murdoch Towers and the national team gig during COVID years, I reckon he’s been in holiday mode for some years.
Demetriou to be 'given the time he needs' as Souths back coach - for now - after Mal all but turns down job
Seems a sensible short-term move.
It’s hard to believe they were seriously considering Meninga, but if they were, his weird, rambling performance last night probably put them off.

Yes! Justice!
I still don’t know what the penalty was for. Existing?

I thought he handled it well. It certainly wasn’t a ‘train-wreck’.
If he doesn’t walk away there’s a fair chance he says something he’ll later regret. Either way, the vultures behind the microphones are happy.
'That's it?': Angry Demetriou storms out of 27-second trainwreck press conference as Souths sharpen axe
I wouldn’t go that far.
Rabbitohs rubbish Meninga rumour as Cook admits he's 'frustrated, angry and sad' over losing his spot
Fun fact: 40 years ago tomorrow, Bennett coached Brisbane Souths to an 11-8 victory over Redcliffe at Lang Park.
__
I wonder if he ever imagined he’d still be doing this 40 years later, or that he would one day be coaching Redcliffe in a national (using the term loosely) competition.
Wayne Bennett is back on top ahead of Brisbane battle - and he'll be happy to let the Souths chatter continue
You’ve gotta hand it to him. He’s turned doing absolutely nothing into an art form – and multiple well paid jobs.

“And they would be wrong”
No, they wouldn’t, as has been repeatedly demonstrated through administration of the salary cap and the collective bargaining process.
Like every other market, it’s regulated. Deal with it, Brettles.
NRL News: Sea Eagles show Schuster the door, Eels encounter 'market value' hitch in Lomax deal, Reynolds eyes early return
Given the Bottomless Burrow has essentially given up on being an effective rugby league team for season ’24, they should at least consider giving us access to the soap opera.
‘Real Inmates of the Redfern Asylum’?
‘I’m a rugby league player, get me out of here’?
Rabbitohs rubbish Meninga rumour as Cook admits he's 'frustrated, angry and sad' over losing his spot
“the NRL has no business getting involved in individual player values. It’s none of their business…”
I believe the salary cap auditor and the RLPA would strongly disagree.

“How many weeks are left until we stop caring about the NRL again?
This is the golden period of the season, with every team having its own narrative, but it’s about to be subsumed by chat about the Parochial All Stars – and, this time, we’re having our cake and eating it.”
Geez, when you do the review about why this forum is dead, this gibberish should rate a mention.
