Rafal Majka takes the points at the top of the Col d’Aubisque, but all he cares about at the moment is the stage win. Not even stopping to take a bidon, he zooms away down the descent, knowing that every second counts.

Roglic and Bardet go within moments of each other and are now driving an intense pace. Majka still has ten seconds as he nears the crest of the climb. Froome is in trouble at the back of the group and he, along with Dan Martin and Steven Krujswijk have been distanced by around 20m.

Primoz Roglic flies past Landa and Bardet, who have finally been caught. The two look down at their legs, and manage to respond. All the GC favourites are now together with the exception of Quintana and Fuglsang.

Majka attacks
Krujswijk is caught by the yellow jersey group, who now also have the race leaders in their sights. Rafal Majka, the only man left at the front who is unburdened by GC aspirations, attacks Landa and Bardet.

We’re now onto the final climb of this year’s race, the Col d’Aubisque. There are 3km to the summit and then we descend all the way to the finish in Laruns.

Kruijswijk attacks
Steven Krujswijk uses the mist to slip off the front of the yellow jersey group and attempt to bridge the gap to Landa and Bardet.
Meanwhile, Chris Froome and Dan Martin along with Egan Bernal have all made it back to the Thomas group.

Froome uses the short descent off the Col du Soulor to make his way across to Dan Martin, and with Egan Bernal on the front, they work together to reduce the gap to the yellow jersey group down to just 15 seconds.

Now Dan Martin attacks and leaves Froome, who is unable to respond. He’s now struggling to keep up even with his teammate Egan Bernal.
Quintana is 2’45 behind the yellow jersey group.

Dan Martin and Egan Bernal have caught up with Chris Froome. Incredible effort from Bernal, who is the youngest rider in this year’s race. Froome and Martin are now 32 seconds behind the yellow jersey group.

At the front of the race, Landa, Bardet and Majka’s advantage has been cut down to just 35 seconds over the yellow jersey group.
In that group, Krujswijk has been caught by Thomas, Dumoulin and Primoz Roglic, who is now ahead of Chris Froome in a virtual podium position on the road.

Roglic attacks
Roglic uses Martin as a springboard to launch his own move and manages to distance Thomas, Dumoulin and Froome. Dumoulin responds and bridges the gap and now Chris Froome has been dropped.

Dan Martin was initially unable to respond to that acceleration but has made his way back to the front of the group and now he attacks!

DUMOLIN GOES
Tom Dumoulin tries his luck once and and then manages to put Chris Froome in a bit of difficulty on the second attempt! Nairo Quintana looked to be struggling at the back of the group after his crash on yesterday’s stage and has now been considerably distanced. Fuglsang now long gone as well.

In response, Landa goes at the front of the race and is followed by Bardet, and it’s Majka who also makes his way across as the third rider. Zakarin unable to respond and is dropped.

Here comes the first move from Lotto-NL Jumbo and as expected, it’s Steven Krujswijk, who goes at the foot of the climb!

The lead group is now at the foot of the Col du Soulor, officially the first half of the Hors Categorie Col d’Aubisque (16.6km at 4.9%). Keep in mind that this gradient figure includes a short descent and some flat road from the Soulor to the Aubisque.

SAGAN UPDATE:
Still good news for Sagan, who remains in the grupetto, who are now 18 minutes behind Geraint Thomas and the main bunch. The projected cut-off is predicted to be 40-45mins at the end of the stage, so it looks like he might make it!

At the front of the race, Warren Barguil and Mikel Nieve have been dropped with 1km to go until the top of the climb.

Gesink finally hits the wall and shoots out the back of the group, almost falling off his bike in exhaustion as he swerves from side to side. The breakaway’s lead increases by five seconds as a direct result of this change at the front of the main group.

Roglc zooming away off the front, taking monumental risks around every corner. Zakarin struggling to follow at the back and his horrible descending technique is being exposed badly here. We can only hope and pray that he makes it to the bottom in one piece
