You would likely only get 20k in Optus anyway due to COVID19. In a year where large dollars have been lost, makes more sense to have a three game series.

Yeah, kind sorta, there are no manufactured teams here. Expect matbe Brisbane and Qld Country. Could easily be North Brissy, South Brissie. Nth Syd, could be Bears.
Marketing 101 is to expand with an existing product. The most poorly known teams in Oz expand to key Australian regions. Chiefs, Highlanders and Hurricanes.

The number 1 supported brand of nz teams is blues, and daylight second. Big incentive for Chiefs, Highlanders and Hurricanes to truly beome known in Australia. Equally good result for Australia. More teams more wins, more supporters and traction in Oz.
In NRL, many teams are dominated by kiwis or PI. You play maybe 3-4 locals from Oz in team, yhe rest normal NZ squad. Then there are no disagreements like with Cats.
The main point is for NZR to recognise markets.

1. Aussie teams. Personal taste on teams people would like to see playing. Put best foot forward with brands, flight cost saving for geography. Randwick, basically appropriating their brand. North Sydney Oval is akin to Ballymore.
2. Force. Concede was probably a bit cheeky to throw in with nz bunch. Fairer solution is to rotate aussie teams through nz conf.
3. 12 teams. Only two games v ozzy teams. You want ten teams right? I know we are the easybeats, 😛 , but with JLT far more talent.
4. Name Bledisloe. Again leaning off a powerful brand to make it bigger. Yes there is a reason it is powerful and not to be messed with.
5. SOO. Nz may not want nth v sth. All good.
6. M10 cant be played at start of year. End of year still works.

It all comes back to cost of competition. Driving between Syd, Act, cheaper than flying and hoteling in NT, SA.
Also RA has less money than AFL and NRL. Neither one of them are based in NT.

Size of ground doesn’t count with COVID19. Health groups are already up in arms about 20k attendance at games in WA due to potential for a super spreader event. You would have a GF in an empty stadium. Would be same result as A baron MCG
