Memories can mislead, cs.

Have shared the link above for Fardy’s matches from 2014 season onwards.

He was a clear starter at the Brumbies until his move to Leinster

Awesome! Well done Force!

Only wish he was coming home to Sydney.

Huge coup sees Wallabies hooker coming home to Super Rugby on long-term deal, with World Cup in sights

That’s the core of it Piru.

X factor is not easily taught.

Clearing out is just the will and practicing technique.

A few red cards at scrum time would change the complexion though.

Scrum and line out might struggle.

23 Angus Bell’s might be the go.

LRO, when did Larkham drop Fardy? He was starting 6 fifteen times in his last season for them, including as they lost the QF.

Cheika had him in and out of the Wallabies and then never used one of his Giteau picks when he could have, despite him playing stellar rugby for Leinster.

all.rugby very easy to see matches by player.

Look forward to it Russ.

A drop of 23%? That’s nothing!

Try drop the Tahs faced when they played under Jonathan Kaplan. As of start of 2012 they had won 3 out of 19 under him at 16%

For the four years prior they were 37 wins from 55 games at 67%. Obviously most of the losses in that period were under Kaplan! 😛

(that last bit I’m being cheeky, not sure how many of the 19 matches under him were in those prior four years)

Rugby is losing the long-term battle: What World Rugby must learn from Australia before it's too late

Hitting the nail on the head, Andy.

We have a Collective Bargaining Agreement that guarantees Australian professional players in Australia receive at least 31.7% of revenue in salaries.

41m goes to the RUPA members based on the 2022 report.

Meanwhile there is no hardcoded figure for how much money RA disburse to the Community game where the future players come from.

I think when Super thrived in the past that contracts in the NH competitions were a fraction of what they are today. We didn’t have million dollar contracts in Oz (let alone 1.7m contracts).

Our broadcast deal was higher because we had more viewers. We’ve hit the double whammy of falling crowds facing increased player costs (driven by a more competitive market).

I don’t advocate us leaving Super because I think a domestic comp will match the quality of rugby. I call for it since we’ve already lost the financial battle with the wealthier Unions/Competitions. We don’t have the same emotional hold on our players as NZ, we have a more competitive domestic market for talent and our financials are heading for bankruptcy.

We are taking on debt ahead of Lions and WC in the hopes that bails us out but with no evidence that we won’t just head straight into further debt if those events clear the current deficit.

I see a mix, as in – this is the easy way to get NSW back to to the top.

They won’t even necessarily see it as malicious, the path to financial security for all rugby in Australia is lifting fan numbers. NSW and RA probably think the largest group they can engage most easily is the NSW rugby public.

If they follow that mindset then giving NSW a leg up just helps fix the financials for all.

For me we need to keep building on the growth in WA and Vic as well as reengaging the NSW and Qld fan bases (NSW needing more reengagement than Qld).

Unfortunately Dusty, we can’t finance the game on the Canberra crowds and Brumbies ratings numbers. Doesn’t go close to paying AAA’s 1m+ a year.

The Brumbies are the best rugby program in the country, have been for a very long time but they are completely subsidised by parts of the country that are losing their fans in droves.

All well and good to enjoy your team playing well but we can’t stick our heads in the sand and ignore the financial peril the code is in.

G’day MG, I read the reports the same, the big liability is Daceyville which as you say is offset by the right of use.

I just can’t see how they got themselves in so much trouble in less than 12 months.

Have always assumed the motivation to hand over the keys to RA was elsewhere, my speculation has been that they see themselves as the logical Leinster of Oz under an Irish model that builds a successful side that most of the national team come from in the main playing/population centre.

G’day Ross, can you explain the mechanism for:

replace it with a constitution which has the broad rugby population of clubs and states vote for board members

How will this differ from the Super Rugby club Votes and state votes that exist today? Currently the clubs bundle into Sub-Unions that in turn vote for their State reps. You know this from your time at Norths and NSWRU.

Players from your club Northern Suburbs vote for directors of the club, Norths then votes as a member of Sydney Rugby Union, SRU votes as a member of NSWRU, NSWRU votes as a member of RA.

If the clubs and the states both get a vote, how does that work? Will Penrith get 1 vote, Blue Mountains get 1 vote, Scarborough get 1 vote, Northern Suburbs 1 vote? I don’t mind direct participation from clubs as an idea but then why not go one further and give every registered playing member of a club a vote?

How about fans, should they get a vote?

Just not sure how clubs vote for the state but then both clubs and states get a vote for RA. Would be great to see some of the detail, some of the openness and transparency that you are seeking from RA displayed in what you are agitating for.

We all agree the performance has been terrible, most of us want change but you are short on detail and only a few of your SOARR members are prepared to name themselves as being members, doesn’t engender trust while a largely hidden group call for openness and transparency.

No outfit today. North Stand and catching up with mates.

'Hung in there': Aussie men and women set up Hong Kong Sevens semi-finals against New Zealand

I’m having a blast Muzzo!

This is far and away the best tournament of all I’ve been to. Have done London twice and once each for Sydney, Singapore and Las Vegas.

Think this is my 15th HK 7s. None of the others come close.

A bit dusty this morning but has been such a cracking tournament. One more day to go and I’ll pay the price tomorrow.

Been at the 7s so not seen the match.

Regardless, Bell if fit is our first choice loosie.

Hey Geoff. GGF.

Bell is.

Go search for some credibility.

Ok.

Will water down “looks like…can” to “…may”

'Curse the money all you want' but RA must work out what it wants from Super Rugby - otherwise the game is doomed

SR is a loss maker and the Wallabies don’t have the cut through of the AB’s.

Yep, NZR can make it work but RA have proven they can’t. Just hope they wake up to the fact soon.

55m of debt with nothing to show for it suggests they aren’t awake yet.

Pretty amazing that RA couldn’t come up with a PE deal but looks like the Rebels can. How bad are things really at HQ?

'Curse the money all you want' but RA must work out what it wants from Super Rugby - otherwise the game is doomed

I don’t disagree. Just adding some background for the ‘he’s selfish’ and ‘who does he think he is’ crew

I think they have to go through EPS first (which Barrett is in).
