Two meetings to look at on Sunday, with Wedderburn and Launceston getting my attention. Down below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Wedderburn

Best bet: Race 2, Number 6, Carleno
Can be fraught with danger going for a first starter as a best bet, but this guy looks well above average. On debut for the O’Donoghue/Bartley camp and is closely related to their former stable star, San Carlo, so is bred to be a good one, and he’s trialled like a good one, winning his past couple quite comfortably in fast time. Tricky draw, but confident he overcomes it and wins.

Next-best: Race 5, Number 3, Whos Countin
I think he’s a straight forward, safe, each way bet. Very reliable from the stand start, and is quick from the tape, so I think he will lead and that is certainly no disadvantage at this track. Far from disgraced in a strong race on Monday, and from on speed over the staying trip, he’ll only run well.

Value: Race 3, Number 1, Hello I Tea
This track can suit those on speed, as stated above, so I think this three-year-old is in with a shout here. He was $126 last start at Kilmore but ran a super race from off the speed when third to Kaptain Kidd. Draws the pole, I think he has the gate speed to lead and take beating from the front.

Best bet: Race 2, Number 5, Joe The Bookie
Just has to produce something near what he did on debut and this should be another win and make it 2/2 to start his career. His debut came at Hobart and gee he was impressive. He spanked them and ran good time. He should find the front here and be too classy for them again.

Next-best: Race 6, Number 6, Izaha
He’s flying at the moment and confident he wins again. He was excellent in a strong edition of the Devonport Cup two back. Then raced here last Friday night where he pinged to the front and gave nothing else a look in. 20m handicap to overcome, but small field helps and has class.

Value: Race 4, Number 2, Mozasu
He doesn’t have the best of winning strike rates but is rarely far away from the action. Was on speed when racing here last Friday night and battled on okay in defeat when second, beaten 11 metres. He has the speed to cross the pole, then opt for a sit. He’s a good each way bet at odds.
