TWO GOOD! Zahra wins back-to-back Melbourne Cups on Without a Fight as three horses pull up lame

Its the last day of the festival and with it comes the most prestigious race of all the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Heres a preview of the top two races of the day, including the big one:
Triumph Hurdle:
This is a hurdle for four year olds – just babies in terms of Jumps racing.
Because of this and the big field its a hard race to pick a winner. Rolling Star and Far West have Cheltenham form with previous victories. For the Irish, Our Conor looks the best with three wins leading into this race. I’m going with course form in this one. Far West is my pick.
Cheltenham Gold Cup:
While the Aintree Grand National gets the more coverage, this race is the pinnacle of National Hunt racing.
Run over three miles not every good staying chaser is suited to this due to the undulating course and the big hilll at the finish.
There is four horses with live chances. The favourite, Bobs Worth has won at two festivals and won a leading handicap, the Hennessy Gold Cup, earlier in the season. He’ll have no problem staying.
Likewise, Sir Des Champs is a dour stayer who won at the festival last year. I would be a bit concerned that hes a bit one paced in the races I’ve seen of him so far this season.
Long Run won this in 2011 as a young horse in an era when Kauto Star and Denman were still racing. He’s the highest rated horse in this and if he runs to his best rating he’ll win it, however its been a while since hes done that.
Silviniaco Conti has the right profile for this, he has Cheltenham form over hurdles here, he’s a fine jumper and I think he might have more pace than the others in a finish.
Silviniaco Conti is the winner for me, from Bobs Worth and Sir Des Champs.
