Stop making sense.

Already in the name: Why sending the Tigers west makes the best sense for NRL expansion

As a Tasmanian I couldn’t think of anything much more ridiculous than a team in Tasmania. There is literally no rugby league played here. Zero. Don’t let some touch footy numbers muddy those waters.

Well we certainly saw plenty about the games in Aus media. But what about the US media?

NRL News: Vegas TV ratings barely a blip on US radar, Leniu tightlipped over racism row, Brimson not stoked about switch

Legitimate question…how many Aus players are actually knocking back overseas offers?

'Fighting with one hand tied': To'omua calls on Rugby Australia to 'pick best Wallabies team' to stop international slide

Even then you have to use a decent amount of effort to make the case that those 4-6 are actually better.

Ironically, it should be called a touchdown…

Rugby league needs a new name but what can you call it to stand out in football’s confusingly crowded landscape of codes?

The six main reasons for a player to be temporarily suspended for ten minutes are:
1 . Repeated infringements
2 . Professional Foul
3 . Cooling off period for a player
4 . Dissent
5 . Striking
6 . Foul Play

‘Fun and games, banter’: Leniu response to racial allegation beggars belief as ‘heat of the battle’ mentality harms NRL yet again

Only if they are playing the Dragons

You’re assuming everyone can read…

They probably have been much better the last few years so I’m probably being a little harsh. But the fact that they have had issues with their own club indicates that it’s definitely been there previously..

How do A-League fans convince police that passion is not a crime?

Overpolicing at sports stadiums is a national pastime… but let’s not pretend that riot police aren’t called/put on stand by in European football as well. Part of the issue I see is that the some in the active supporters ARE trying to replicate the bad parts of active support. The RBB has had miles of media articles about them having issues, their own club has threatened to shut them down. This is something that dragged the NSL down.
I guess that’s to say, cops sometimes bad, ultras also sometimes bad.

The Tah are all about a small part of Sydney…You could put a team in Western Sydney and it’d be the first time a club has even tried to recruit from there…

COMMENT: This is the real reason why the Force were cut in 2017

I’m not saying you’re wrong. Just adding some context. RA should have paid attention to how long it took and only start the Rebels if they were prepared for it to take 20 years

Legalising foul play, laneway bars and Molly Meldrum: Ten ways we can conquer Melbourne for rugby

It does help that the Storm are over 20 years old and have been hugely successful over that time all propped up by the purse of NewsCorp.

What does RA really bring to the table in negotiation though? I prefer union but just don’t see it…the international game is maybe a piece of the puzzle but I don’t see how the NRL can help with international success. The fragilities of the Wallabies is in the tight 5 – ain’t going to improve with league players available. Maybe (and it’s a big maybe) having someone like Nathan Cleary available would help, but I’d have my doubts.
But like any merger someone will get eaten. Look at all the mergers in the NRL to know what would happen…

10 reasons league and union should merge to become One Rugby - and give AFL nightmares

I agree that his passing isn’t up to scratch. My thoughts are more around whether giving such quick service can be a blessing and a curse.

Care factor: How England veteran and Broncos star are fuelling Nic White's 2027 World Cup ambitions

I actually think Tate’s greatest strength can be his greatest weakness if used at the wrong time. ie his passing looks worse than it is at times because he clears the ball too quickly. No point firing off a pass to someone not watching/not there

Agree with you Piru. Australia for the most part is VERY competitive against all nations except the ABs. But then again what’s their winning record against all teams?

Have you seen how many minutes the ball is in play in union? No one is playing 80 mins 😂

I’d go one step further and have a residential college for tight 5 players as well. The coaches and tight 5 can be in residence at the same time.

Yeah relegation and promotion is held up as sporting nirvana but it really isn’t all that. Most of the cash will go to the half dozen decent clubs (if that) and then the rest of the teams will maul each other constantly.
