Agree about the historical stuff. It’d be another 1000 words to cover the fact that the Hawks empire started with nailing the draft – Hodge, Lewis, Mitchell, Buddy & roughie. It does feel like Hawks are as confident picking 30-60 as they are 15-30.

I’m not one to bang out about tv ads but they were shockers. The 2000 era Jay Z style wailing noise was like nails on a chalk board. Plus I’m not sure the demographic of NBL watchers are looking for teenage girls hot pants.

Two games for Kings this weekend. Even a win/loss split and you’ll likely see Gaze name in next weeks takes. Didn’t call a timeout when the game slipped away. Sat on the led panelling like a moping toddler. Runs an offense he stole from his dad when he has the most dynamic pick and roll guard in the league. Gaze is a lovable bloke but a lot not to like about his coaching.

Interpretations will play a bigger role than rule changes. Incorrect disposal is the golden ticket- besides the throws, the “knocked out in the tackle” is the biggest load of junk that simply causes rolling mauls.

Kick outs – which defenders will have the balls to take on the man on the mark? 10mtr to sprint, can imagine a Zac williams blowing by a stationary tall.
Umpires and hitouts – it actually creates an empty zone to hit to. Guys won’t be able to line up behind the umpire but I imagine many will be streaming into the space behind him once the ball goes up.
Ruck change – understand the “repeat stoppage” issue but at the same time creating a clearance is easier if the ruck can take it and hack it forward.

5 years for a broken down Hanners seemed the biggest shock for me. He had a shocking year and the Swans got a get out of jail free card dumping him.
For mine, this scenario only highlights why salary transparency is necessary. Football departments have to be accountable for their performance the same way the coach and players do.
