Tattersall’s Tiara is the final Group 1 of the season and, as usual, it has produced a strong field of fillies and mares.

The Eagle Farm track is currently rated a Dead 4 and with a predicted 5-30mm to fall over the next two days we could be looking at something close to a Slow 6-7 come Saturday.

Streama has lined up as the $3.80 favourite after her barnstorming third behind Linton in the Stradbroke Handicap, closely followed in the betting by last start winner Red Tracer, who took out the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes.

On the next line of betting is the ‘almost’ unbeaten 3 year-old filly Peron along with ‘Autumn’s star mare’ Skyerush at $8.

Steps in Time and Arctic Flight will both be vying for the lead, with Red Tracer, Skyerush and Floria all taking up a prominent position from their wide draws.

With that in mind, this race will be run in almost similar fashion to the Dane Ripper Stakes 2 weeks ago. Although the hot pace up front could set the race up for horses flashing home late such as Streama and Risk Aversion.

With the race run under weight-for-age conditions and with the rain predicted on Friday, I just can’t go past Red Tracer. Meeting all of her recent rivals better at the weights, she has a great track/distance record with two wins from three starts, absolutely revels in the wet and is trained by Chris Waller, who is unstoppable at the moment.

The main danger is obviously Streama, after her eye catching third in the Stradbroke, but every time the pair have met recently Red Tracer has beat her to the post (minus Red Tracer’s forget run in the Doncaster).

My third pick here is She’s Clean, also trained by Chris Waller. She has won her last three starts and can also handle the wet but would be more suited if this race was under handicap conditions. The step-up in grade isn’t a worry as she beat the Group 1 winning appearance in the Listed Triscay back in February.

Other horses to include in the multiples would be the 3 year old Peron, who has been very impressive with her five wins from six starts, though this race will be much tougher. Also include Risk Aversion, who will be suited by the strong pace and also handles the wet – go back and watch her final 200m last start, it was an absolute ripper!

Tips
1. Red Tracer
2. Streama
3. She’s Clean
4. Peron
5. Risk Aversion
