Australia vs India Boxing Day Test Day One: Live scores, blog
Hi guys,
Just addressing the issue regarding paged comments.
The key reason for breaking the comments up relates to speed. The old site was quite slow and we wanted to address this with the new build.
One thing which makes a page slow is the amount of content it needs to send to your browser. On the old site, most of the content was the comments.
So breaking the comments to pages should make each page faster to load.
(Aside: The Roar receives over 30,000 comments each month. The equivalent of War & Peace – 560,000 words – is written on the site by Roarers every 5 days.)
Having said this, I’ve heard a bit of feedback about pages comments and so will look to see what we can do to enable the ‘Load more’ feature we had before.
Any feedback at all – please send to us: http://www.theroar.com.au/about/
Thanks, Zac

Jiggles & co – we messed this up and we’re sorry for the errors in the piece.
David Lord is a seasoned pro of Australian journalism, but not everyone gets it right all the time. He writes every single day for The Roar.
This volume of material means he nails pieces. And from time to time, he misses.
Our editors should have caught the errors (in this piece…that was me!). But unfortunately we didn’t.
But the beauty of The Roar is that we have probably one of the most informed sports crowds in Australia, if not the world. And you guys sure didn’t miss the clangers!
Thanks for the feedback and here’s to a huge RWC (with coverage which is mainly factual!).

ChrisT & Jiggles,
Sorry you guys feel this way about some of our articles. The Roar is all about strong sports opinion and we aim to have the highest standards possible with our editorial. The nature of copy is that sometimes we nail it, othertimes we don’t.
But we listen to you guys and take on board your opinion..

Brian / Dopey and others – this article is a satirical piece. The danger of satire is that it can be misread, but we felt it was well enough done to be worthy of publishing.
