A lover of all things sport. Admittedly biased towards all Australian teams and players. Tennis is my main game.

Yeah he’ll probably get some votes. If they can get the top seed he will have a very strong case.
Hopefully people will start to recognize his dominance
Why is nobody talking about John Wall?
As you say Swampy, Nash does sometime get a bad wrap. His MVP seasons were incredible
That said, Wall averaging almost 23 and 11 does warrant the conversation at least.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see him have a drop off though
Why is nobody talking about John Wall?
Definitely should be top 10 for me. He is very close to Nash, he’d need to sustain it for another 25+ games to get to Nash’s level for me
Why is nobody talking about John Wall?
Yes you are right in that he is too early in his development to judge him, and a team could regret trading him.
And by all reports from the Lakers he has a good work ethic and wants to learn and improve.
But he has struggled shooting the ball whenever I have watched them and hasn’t looked like a superstar.
Interesting. He could well develop into a great player, but I’d be surprised if he is a genuine superstar one day. I’d love to be wrong

That is part of the issue, the lack of consistency within the organisation.
They always seem to be built around back locker room guys.
Hopefully in NOLA they can surround him with good people to get the best out of him

I’m not too convinced. Tyreke Evans despite being a free-agent at the end of this season was good for the deal, and Langston Galloway is underrated too.
I just don’t think that Ingram has shown enough to be get that deal done for L.A
The deal with the Pelicans was bad for Sacramento in my opinion also.

Agreed OJP. I don’t think it would be a great fit for Boston, as tempting as it would have been.
Word around the league is that they are going hard for Jimmy Butler though, but are unwilling to part with both of their Brooklyn picks, especially the 2017 one.

Add in Dragan Bender when he develops plus Alex Len and Brandon Knight off the bench, and you have one heck of a team!

True haha. You can definitely see the odd suspension or two coming if they face off
With DeMarcus Cousins, could New Orleans challenge Golden State?
From the Lakers perspective I would absolutely take that trade. Although Deng and Mozgov haven’t been as bad as people are suggesting I don’t think.
From the Kings though, I wouldn’t have taken anything less than two of their young stars plus a draft pick.
Thoughts Jay D?

Unfortunately the days of playing for your country in test cricket with pride are becoming less and less due to T-20 leagues around the world.
It is a great spectacle though, and as fans we should be wary against dismissing it

Agree with your assessment. Not sure why Lyon is being picked if he is such a liability though.
I understand the lack of spin options that Australia have, but surely with Lyon struggling so much in Asia something will be done
Mitch Marsh's imminent recall is Nathan Lyon's fault
Agreed there Jay! The Lakers would have done well for themselves to trade away two prospects and a pick.
But as you mentioned, is it worth having a player of incredible talent if they are a cancer in the lockeroom?

Based on the incompetence of the Kings management I wouldn’t put anything beyond them.
But I was surprised about the reports of the Lakers being unwilling to part ways with Ingram.
I thought he has been slightly underwhelming this season, not that that is unusual for a rookie.
But I wouldn’t have thought that he has put himself in the category of ‘hands off.’

The Kings really are making New York look good.
I am excited to see how Cousins may fare in a different system in position to make the playoffs.
I am also intrigued to see how Alvin Gentry will handle the team, as I have thought his coaching at times has been below standard.
And does this make Anthony Davis a potential MVP candidate again?
Probably not with RW and Harden doing their thing, but worth a thought

Or the other way around
With DeMarcus Cousins, could New Orleans challenge Golden State?
GS would need to have injuries for me. Or if SAC can add 2 or 3 good role players via trade before the deadline, but I don’t think they have enough on their roster to make that happen
With DeMarcus Cousins, could New Orleans challenge Golden State?
It would be one of the biggest upsets of all time for sure! Not sure that Cousins and Davis would be able to compliment each other enough at this stage to win 4 out of 7
With DeMarcus Cousins, could New Orleans challenge Golden State?
You’re also right there Mushi.
With DeMarcus Cousins, could New Orleans challenge Golden State?
Astro, their rebounding is good as you say. But they’re that good at everything else that rebounding really is their biggest weakness
With DeMarcus Cousins, could New Orleans challenge Golden State?
Yeah the titles a bit sketchy
With DeMarcus Cousins, could New Orleans challenge Golden State?
Agreed there Rossy.
The Wizards are far from irrelevant, and I would argue that Wall is doing as good a job as Isaiah Thomas, who is getting as much talk as anyone in the NBA at the moment.
And I would also argue he is in the MVP CONVERSATION, but is probably at the back end of it for me.
As for all-NBA, first team is a write-off with RW and Harden, but second team he could get in.
Thoughts?
