A lover of all things sport. Admittedly biased towards all Australian teams and players. Tennis is my main game.

Yes you are right about the contract. I thought it was this season plus two, but it’s just this and next.
And I’ll disagree about Kawhi. He often guards the likes of Paul Curry and Westbrook because they are the best offensive players on the team.
When SA played Chicago twice earlier in the year, Kawhi guarded Jimmy Butler.
Against the Cavs he guards LeBron, who I guess you could argue is the PG.
Having Kawhi guard any player on the opposing team will slow the offense down, but I think to have your two best players immune from Kawhi in a way is good.
And agreed that they need more pieces to contend
With DeMarcus Cousins, could New Orleans challenge Golden State?
If you read the article i predicted a first round exit
With DeMarcus Cousins, could New Orleans challenge Golden State?
Agreed. I think he misses the clay courts to be honest. Clay made him win points in a variety of ways – defense, drop shots, long points and the occasional volleys.
As you say, he looks very one dimensional, Hopefully he can regain some form in Rio this week
What’s wrong with Dominic Thiem?
That could be either the best thing ever or an utter disaster LOL
The Houston Rockets are the Warriors' biggest threat
I’m not sure Maxwell is ready for test cricket, nor is his form good enough to warrant it.
That, and the extended time we can expect to see the Aussies in the field for, make Mitch Marsh a smart choice
The Marsh brothers are a lock for India Tests
Plus we don’t know how they are going to play as a unit, and I haven’t been convinced of Alvin Gentry as a head coach yet. Could be interesting for sure!
The Houston Rockets are the Warriors' biggest threat
I’d expect them to sneak into eight, and would be a nightmare first round match up for GS most likely.
That said, a starting lineup of Holiday – Moore – Hill – Davis – Cousins shouldn’t hold too many fears as they don’t have the depth they would like.
Definitely capable of causing some headaches though
The Houston Rockets are the Warriors' biggest threat
The problem with looking at the bench is that lots of teams appear to have a better bench than Golden State, but it’s the second unit that is important.
GS always have two of their big four on the court, and then only need three bench players, usually Livingston, Clark and Igoudala depending on the injury situations.
But although their bench isn’t strong, they have starting lineup depth that makes their second unit a killer.
The Houston Rockets are the Warriors' biggest threat
My stats say Rockets 71-66 when they won in 2OT
Then 52-51 Houston in the next meeting that GS won
The Houston Rockets are the Warriors' biggest threat
Yes, teams like Denver and Miami wouldn’t have a chance in a 7 game series.
One of Cleveland’s issues is the defense of Irving, Love, Smith and even Thompson. James is their only great defender, and with the offensive firepower of GS, there is nowhere to hide their defenders.
Houston have Beverley to do a job on Curry and Ariza is solid enough to take Durant. Capela can protect the rim, so you’re only weakness is Harden and Anderson.
I’d say GS still win in 5 or 6, but the shooting of Houston is the X-factor of the playoffs when they arrive.
Thoughts?
The Houston Rockets are the Warriors' biggest threat
Durant is a pretty good rebounder for his size and position, but if he’s the Warriors best rebounder, it’s a weakness for them in my opinion.
You are right in that they have lost different games in different ways, but the best hope teams have, other than an implosion from GS, is to just shoot the lights out and put real pressure on their offense late in games.
Thoughts?
The Houston Rockets are the Warriors' biggest threat
When Durant is their best rebounder you know there’s a weakness there. Houston don’t have great rebounding but as you say had the edge.
I like Golden State when JaVale starts, I think he adds an X-factor to their team.
Can you trust him in the playoffs though?
The Houston Rockets are the Warriors' biggest threat
Yes you are right, and that’s part of Cleveland’s success against them.
Irving and James driving the ball, Love and Thompson rebounding and Smith, Frye, Irving and now Korver shooting.
Harden does a good job at getting to the paint also to kick it out to open shooters, but Houston don’t have the rebounding of the teams you mentioned
The Houston Rockets are the Warriors' biggest threat
Yeah you’re right. I always thought the Collingwood era would be a big one, but Geelong put it on pause, and Hawthorn drew a line through it
The GWS dynasty is upon us
You’re right Tricky.
Many people will always put an asterisk next to a Giants premiership if it were to happen
The GWS dynasty is upon us
They don’t have too many players that stand out as brownlow contenders, but have great depth that comes at teams in waves.
Forgot Ward too, and the run that they get off of the half back line really sets the rest of their game up.
Agree that Melbourne are an exciting team moving forward too
The GWS dynasty is upon us
Yes you are right, the crowds for their home games are very low.
Many people won’t like a Giants dynasty for sure, but they play a game style that is fun to watch
The GWS dynasty is upon us
Only issue with Syndey is if the likes of Hannebery and Parker’s bodies break down.
Other than that, I think you are right
The GWS dynasty is upon us
Yes you are right in all that you said.
But they dismantled Sydney and got within a kick of the Bulldogs in the prelim, so there was very little between them and the best last season.
And they showed they aren’t afraid to take it to the big fish of the competition
The GWS dynasty is upon us
Yes, that is true. But I believe that they are good enough to adapt.
As for the Crows, I don’t think they have the depth to be great once teams figure them about.
The GWS dynasty is upon us
Yeah you’re right. The only way i can see a NOLA-SAS first round is if OKC fall off the rails due to RW getting injured or something, and New Orleans finding a rhythm.
GS have too much firepower to lose in the first or second round in my opinion
With DeMarcus Cousins, could New Orleans challenge Golden State?
