I feel they didn’t pick Devils because of the association with the old NBL team. And I have no idea why Tigers was not at least shortlisted. The name seems a bit strange, but I am sure the name will grow on people

Tasmanian NBL team name unveiled

Great article, it was definitely a night to forget for the Heat. Although they came back a bit, the scoreboard does not tell the story as the Lakers just dominated them. They shut down Herro, Adebayo as well. The main positive for Miami was Butler’s performance. Dragic going down with an injury like that will also hurt them, and the severity of Adebayo’s injury could already decide whether this series is over.

I expect the heat to bounce back though, and put up a bit of a fight. However, my prediction has went from Lakers in 6/7 to Lakers in 5

Anthony Davis, LeBron James and the Lakers show out in Game 1 to take an early series lead

All your comments are certainly true, too many people look at the record and think “he can’t even win the finals,” and use that as their argument as not giving him credit. Yes, Jordan is undefeated in the NBA Finals, but as you said there are so many times he did not make it. It would be more interesting to look at playoff series W/L records to see who has had the better postseason career.

Although the ultimate goal is the championships, it cannot be just one guy doing it all. The only championship that LeBron’s teams have lost that he definitely should have won was 2011. They had no reason being there in 2007 or 2018, yet he managed to drag his team to the Finals.

The importance of the 2020 Finals to LeBron James’ legacy

it is certainly interesting to talk about. He certainly should have a record of 3-4 instead of 3-6. The 07 and 18 Cavs had no reason being in the Finals, but James managed to drag them there.

The record certainly does seem to tarnish his legacy a bit, but I do agree with you. If Jordan was on those 07 and 18 Cavs teams instead of LeBron, they may not have even made the Finals. It’s interesting to discuss the what if, if they had swapped teams and eras how differently they would be viewed in terms of legacy. I feel Jordan (although he’s arguably the GOAT) may be looked more upon the way LeBron is now

The importance of the 2020 Finals to LeBron James’ legacy

It will be interesting to see whether Leonard will walk out to a fourth team, and then would come the question as to what team we could see him go to. I would love to see Harrell move to Charlotte for some big money, the man deserves it and it would be interesting to see him run it with Devonte Graham and Terry Rozier.

Ty Lue would be a great choice for coach

Where to now for the Clippers?

Port, Rich, STK and WCE are my choices. Both Port Adelaide/Geelong and St Kilda/Bulldogs games will be close, but I feel Port will be hungry to make a statement win coming in as they have been severely underrated. I also think St Kilda will get a “surprise” win, and do not see Bulldogs are the major favourites as everyone suggests. St Kilda have played better than the Bulldogs against the big competition, their main issue being inconsistency which saw them lose a few games they should have won this season.

West Coast will belt Collingwood, although I want it to be close. And while Richmond and Brisbane will be a cracker, I see Richmond taking it week 1

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Finals Week 1

Brisbane match up well with Richmond, however they have a bad record against the Tigers. The only other teams I could see toppling them would be Geelong or West Coast. Richmond is the clear premiership favourite, however I’m still tipping Brisbane to win the flag

Richmond versus the field: Can anyone topple the Tigers in finals?

It is a very interesting dilemma for the Clippers. They seem mentally incapable of winning a championship at the moment. A change in head coach is a good start, however this team needs more personnel changes in order to win a championship. A true point guard is definitely needed to effectively run this offence. If they do not make it any further next season, I see a rebuild on the horizon as Leonard and George potentially walk out

Where to now for the Clippers?

Lebron is an absolute stud in the playoffs, especially elimination games. However, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant seemingly both had the killer instinct more so than Lebron.

This series will be a major part in determining James’ legacy. If he ends up with a finals record of 3-7, then the doubters will surely be in full force

The importance of the 2020 Finals to LeBron James’ legacy

You are right on the money, I could see a upset happening, however I think the Lakers will edge them. It will be a tight series though, and the Heat will be hungry for this one as they all play with a chip on their shoulders

Don't underestimate expectation-dodging Miami

Great read, I reckon both teams will be hungry for this one and wanting to prove the doubters wrong (both Butler and James have copped their fair share of criticism in the last couple of years). However, as you said as much as I want Miami to win, I believe the Lakers will edge them out in a tight series

Lakers vs Heat: NBA finals preview

I think the Cats will find a way to still be up there. They have always found ways to overcome the odds and they still have solid players and find ways to bring in more talent during trade period

Ben Brown told to find new AFL club

He may be prime now, but his prime will soon regress. Especially if injuries are an ongoing concern

Ben Brown told to find new AFL club

Great article! I was thinking of writing one similar about the Heat, but you nailed it. The Heat have come in with a chip on their shoulders, a team full of players who have been considered underdogs. People are still continuing to count them out, although it will be difficult to defeat a tandem of Davis and James plus their incredible supporting cast, it would be poetic to see the Heat get the job done after their incredible run. They are a team that reminds me very much of the 2004 Pistons, a team without a bondafide superstar that plays terrific team basketball

Don't underestimate expectation-dodging Miami

Exactly, just someone who can fill the big role they need. Daniel Thesis is decent, but they could do better

The Boston Celtics are a centerpiece away from championship contention

Great article! It is certainly one of those what if scenarios that are interesting to read. If the Celtics got Tyler Herro, would he have flourished like he has at Miami? Or was he always destined to great performances like this? It is impossible to ever know the answers to these questions, but it’s definitely great to talk about

A series defined by a coin toss

I agree wholeheartedly. Murray had an average regular season, however he has stood up when it mattered. Hopefully he is able to maintain this level going into next season, I’ve certainly seen flashes of a superstar talent

Is Jamal Murray a superstar?

Great read, I had this exact same thought when watching the Celtics. They have every position handled except for a centre. If they fill that big man role with a decent quality big then the championship is definitely something they can attain

The Boston Celtics are a centerpiece away from championship contention

Great article! Interesting to see the player movement that goes on this offseason. I feel Ben Brown is an option for St Kilda or Collingwood, maybe even Geelong.

Buddy is an interesting option to put onto the list, I have no idea where he would head to if the swans decide to get rid of him. I do like the idea of a reunion with the hawks tho

Out of favour: More players who will be at new clubs next year

Very excited for this finals series, really hoping my saints can make a statement this year, however I am just happy we are here. I expect us to beat the dogs just, that or Brisbane and Richmond will be the match of the round

AFL finals: Week 1 preview

Thank you for your opinion Frances, however I based these results merely on the team’s performances and talent list. If I was to be biased, I would have had my saints win the entire thing (but we all know that is very unlikely to happen unfortunately)

Predictions for the 2020 AFL finals

I certainly hope we are both wrong and collingwood put up a good fight. A thrashing, while powerful, is never entertaining. Hopefully Collingwood are able to mix it up and challenge the Eagles, however beating them does seem like a nearly impossible task this Finals series

Predictions for the 2020 AFL finals

The game will be a great game for sure, close game with both teams going at each other. Port Adelaide will be hungry to make a statement and prove their doubters wrong, while Geelong will want to prove that they have what it takes to relive the glory days of the late 2000s, early 2010s

Predictions for the 2020 AFL finals

Port certainly match up well with west coast. Both team have solid forward lines and can put up some big scores. It’ll be an interesting game if they end up matched up in week 2

Predictions for the 2020 AFL finals

It will definitely be interesting to see how this form carries into next season, as he certainly has taken a leap during the bubble. If he can keep the form and be consistent into next season, the NBA better watch out for the Denver Nuggets
