Oakleigh Plate 2016: Historical preview and selections
Another super sprinter Placid Ark. A few good ones have won it including Weekend Hussler.

R6 tonight at M/Valley tonight sees ALMIGHTY GIRL run first start since a bob of the head cost her a win over Heatherly. There was a big gap to third in that race so the run was no fluke. Ran super time on debut. Just wish she had drawn better but $5 is enough to interest me.

Re Hucklebuck Cam I basically watched only him in the Orr and what a ride that was. 12/10 from that barrier and he ran well but had his chance to win. Like you say he should be fitter for this as he just seemed to run out of puff last time. TML should go a lot better with that run under his belt too. Suavito could repeat the dose.
2016 Blue Diamond Stakes: Group 1 preview and tips
Fast ‘N’ Rocking a good hope of filling a placing at least Cam. Maybe he has improved from last year but can he give this much weight to those three year olds and others down in the weights. He doesn’t necessarily have the wood on Fell Swoop either from a previous meeting. Meets him 2kg better for a 2L defeat.

Probably a few Nathan. There has been many a longshot fill a placing too over the years. .

Wow what a horse it must have been Onside! I guess you could imagine the likes of Mahogany possibly repeating the dose if he had ever attempted it. He won a Lightning, or one big straight race at Flemington beating Hareeba when first up from memory.

Definitely three quarters of a lengh from the footage shown from the railside of the track. I was quite surprised. I had no vested interest in that result but very unpopular decision given he was spruiked by so many.
Past the Post: Flemington and Rosehill wrap
Interesting to read the comments of Glynn Schofield re Japonisme who reckoned another 50m and that horse comes back and beats both Chautauqua and Terravists.
Can’t agree Razzar re that protest. Tivaci got nearly a length in front of Palentino in the straight yet got run down. It could also be argued that Williams overreacted with that interference and swung way too wide. Even so it was a long way out and so many variables from that point.
Stewards need to consider one thing. Would the horse protesting definitely have won without the interference? The benefit of the doubt must go to the winner . No way they can say that would have been the case in the CS Hayes.
I’s still livid about not getting one upheld with a 25-1 shot on Thursday when it was badly interfered with at the top of the straight. Ran the $1.50 perpetrator down to a half head. Not upheld yet clearly would have won without it’s clear running taken away, No consistency at all with protest decisions. Watch this space!

Well he got himself a bit worked up in the stalls and just didn’t travel sweetly enough. It’s all experience for him and he might be better for it. I don’t think they get humidity like this in New Zealand and that was a worry for me throughout the day. I couldn’t get too keen on backing him because of that.
Arab Dawn was good and it seems he is superior to Libran on Dry ground. Libran is a super looking horse though and can still make a name for himself after little luck in the straight.
Saturday sure things - Black Caviar Lightning Stakes day
Allergic a bit of a query on dry ground in my opinion. Hasselhoof should go a lot better today.
Saturday sure things - Black Caviar Lightning Stakes day
Kinglike scratched now and that is just brilliant isn’t it leaving us a field of just six and even less speed in the race?
The horse with the best late sprint in the race will probably win off a bunched field behind the only leader Va Pensiero.
Three-year-old stars set to dominate autumn
I like Timmy but can’t agree with him here. Players like him need to come back to the A-League to provoke more interest and corporate support. The money just isn’t there because we have a nation fixated on other Football Codes, and look at the money and resources that are poured into them.
Cahill’s scepticism concerning for the FFA and A-League
Yes Cam always love to see the 3yos have a go at the older horses. Hopefully happens at 2000m too this Autumn.
Three-year-old stars set to dominate autumn
Holler can’t run 1400m. Mahuta would be competitive vs the older horses for sure.
Three-year-old stars set to dominate autumn
What looked like an ultra competitive race on paper turned into a very uncompetitve one. That race was over 400m after the start and it was an incredibly dominant performance by Heatherly. She looks to have a race like the Oakleigh Plate at her mercy now. A very big watch on the filly she beat last time too, ALMIGHTY GIRL. I already had her in the Blackbook off her win at Mornington on debut and it was only a bob of the head that denied her 2/2 at Flemington.
I don’t see too many winners coming out of the beaten brigade in the Rubiton with the exception of Politeness but I suppose you have to make allowances for how fast the overall time of 1.02.21 which is pretty slick. Awful performance by Husson Eagle which makes no sense whatsoever.
History somewhat intact with barrier 3 keeping that amazing 2-4 winning barrier record going (11 out of past 14) and a last start winner saluting again. She is also a dead set 1000m-1100m horse, at least at this stage of her career and that is also common for most winners of this race.
Rubiton Stakes 2016: Where the value lies
Nothing mathematical about how I devised the market but it looks to be around the 120% mark. I did the form analysis and history and took if from there. Couldn’t see how any horse deserved to be less than $4 in this race. Good weight comparison there with T & T/Politeness. I might actually have seen that but forgot to mention it. The barrier is going to be his problem but you are getting the odds to compensate.
Rubiton Stakes 2016: Where the value lies
Fair enough JB. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if she won.
Rubiton Stakes 2016: Where the value lies
Very true Bondy and you just don’t know how they are going to adapt to our racing. I have no doubt he is good enough but thought that about Puccini a couple of years ago and he flopped badly. Quite odd because it had beaten Rising Romance in the NZ Derby who went onto better things.
Hasselhoof: Can any other horse hassle the Hoof?
Kawi was almost a Cox Plate contender this year but his trainer decided against it as he doubted he was mature enough. By this Spring he should be in the prime of his career and surely has to attempt that race.
Hasselhoof: Can any other horse hassle the Hoof?
Based on the formline I mentioned Scuba and not including the two you have mentioned who have already ventured here. Kawi is pretty good though. He would seriously challenge those two up to 2000m.
Hasselhoof: Can any other horse hassle the Hoof?
I should also have given a mention to OUR HARMONY. The reason I didn’t have her in the top 4 was mainly because she was meeting Miss Steele 7kg worse at the weights for a half length deficit last time they met. That basically means she is as badly weighted against I Love It. A little awkwardly drawn too. On the flipside she has been in my Blackbook for a while (on times) and might have more upside than the majority of these mares. I’d have her in my top 4 now with the 2 scratchings.
I’m not sure why those 2 mares have been scratched but if it is just because of their barriers I think it is a mistake. As explained the favourite could well find trouble from what looks like a less than ideal inside draw for her.

Same top 3 Cam.
